Dr. Melissa Serravallo, MD

I love Dr. Serravallo. She's thorough and knowledgeable about all kinds of skin conditions, is great for cosmetics, and spends time with her patients. She helped me get control of my adult acne, diagnosed a bump I had had on my forehead for years that other derms told me required surgery (turned out, a two-second non invasive zap was all it needed to disappear). She's also done a great job with very natural looking cosmetic injectables. My highly critical mother told me I looked "refreshed" last time I saw her ;)! I used to have to see two derms-- one for cosmetics and one for more medical dermatology-- but with Dr. Serravallo, she does it all.

I've suffered from psoriasis for over 20 years and struggled with controlling or resolving or clearing affected areas on my skin with topical medication. I've never wanted to take one of the biologic medications because I'm not interested in the potential side effects. After a consult with Dr. Serravallo she was able to identify some new topical treatments available and wisely suggested trying two different topical medications side-by-side to see how they would compare. She supplied me with samples of the medication and after a 3 week trial we identified the proper solution. I'm now basically clear of psoriasis and have eliminated a huge problem from my life. I could not be happier with her thoughtful approach and successful treatment. I've seen many dermatologists over the years and none were as willing to really think through my issues and come up with a real solution. Highly recommend!

after 4 or 5 years of 'care', she biopsied my nose at least 2 x, always taking a tiny surface skim. Thankfully my Dr at Mt Sinai did a 2mm punch, and properly diagnosed an at least 5 yr old basil cell. I now need massive reconstructive surgery on my nose. Run away from this Dr.

On reading some of the (negative) reviews, I was cautious on my first visit. My experience was that Dr. Serravallo was pleasant, very educative in her communicating, asked questions, and was very thorough. I understood the problem and the course of action to take, and also the possible side effects of the medication prescribed. It was an excellent visit

Dr. Serravallo is wonderful! Super thorough and informative. I felt like she spent a lot of time with me making sure all my concerns were heard. She even noticed a spot on my face that turned out to be "pre-cancerous" that I had no idea was there! Also as an added bonus, she was completely on time--a rarity in this day and age! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a quality skin exam.

Rush job and condesenting tone. For some reason she reminded me that I had acne scars, I wasn't there for that issue. Next time I need a derm it won't be her!

Dr. Serravallo declined removing the Digital Mucous Cyst from my toe, after I specially told the secretary why I was making the appt. She also wouldn't remove the mole from the side of my nose saying it would only leave a scar. She reminded me of my acne scars which had absolutely nothing to do with the visit. She pulled the back of my shirt up and looked for moles, I guess this was to validate the waste of my morning and $40. And by the way, for this I waited 40mins. after I complained to the Front Desk.

Dr Serravallo has an eye for skin cancer. She caught mine during a routine screening. I never noticed that spot and turned out to be stage 4 skin cancer. She saved my face. Besides being professional she is super personable and made me feel very comfortable. I’m so sorry she moved from New Jersey.

Dr. Serravallo was able to address and resolve my issue. I am very pleased with the results and plan to return!

Dr. Serravallo is an incredible combination of smart with a remarkable bedside manner. She knows how to get the job done well, timely and efficiently. Most importantly, she cares. I feel valued as a person when I see Dr. Serravallo. My issue is always handled most professionally. I love seeing Dr. Serravallo.

Rushed through visit. Didn't ask any questions about my concerns. No bedside manner.

She was rushing through the whole appointment. I couldn't even understand very well what she was saying because she was talking so fast. I spent all of 5 minutes there. I didn't like her. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Serravallo is very thorough and I'm very satisfied with the care I received in her office. She and her staff are friendly and professional and I have referred others to her practice. The scheduling process was smooth and simple and I was seen at my scheduled appointment time with no wait.

First visit and very impressed. Super bright, easy to talk to and very knowledgeable.
