Dr. Melita Petrossian, MD

They forgot us in my room after a smell test. Walked out with no instructions to an empty office at 4:45 pm and everyone was gone, other than one receptionist. Dr didn’t review history, even from other PNI providers in the same week, and suggested gait issues were due to psychogenic causes vs a long established vestibular disorder. Other PNI doctor dx with vestibular hypofunction x2 days prior as a result of Ménière’s disease. I also have a cyst that is being reviewed by their “tumor board” just in case. I’m not sure how she missed something so big, when citing a lack of evidence. Dr. Petrossian gave two other potential dx for tremor and dystonia, genetic, Parkinson’s (I wasn’t even there for gait) ordered tests, but it’s hard to trust that when she missed or dismissed something so long established, and proven thru multiple tests.Left with no treatment plan or ways to manage dystonia and tremor, even in the interim until tests are done.disappointing and discouraging experience overall

I don't think you can get a better neurologist than Dr. Petrossian. She is highly intelligent, listens carefully, and makes thoughtful comments and suggestions. This is a tough field--neurology--and she is a real star. I highly recommend Dr. Petrossian.

When people ask me if I have a neurologist, I tell them I do not have a neurologist, because I have THE neurologist. For movement disorders, this is the only neurologist to have in the Los Angeles area. She is wonderful, not just as a doctor, but as a person. She has helped me to have a quality of life that was unimaginable to me before I met her.

Dr. Petrossian agreed to treat my palatal myoclonus with injections. They do not state this on the website as the disorder is so rare but she can perform this injection at her Santa Monica office. For those who deal with this extremely rare disorder, this lady might save you from it and validate your suffering. She was kind, thorough and very emboldening. For the last year I’ve batted this disorder which nobody knows about. It has been horribly unbearable. But, the end of the line is near.

Dr.Petrossian is a superb Wonder Woman Doctor!!!!!!. She devotes as much time possible unlike any Doctor I visited-- to find the solution to your issue. No one can match her thoughtfulness/thoroughness and professional keen intereset ........ Unprecedented!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also thank you to your wonderful staff:FELICIA!!!!!!! Dr Petrosian was quite professional, knowledgeable and personable. She made me feel comfortable and took time to answer all of my questions and concerns. She was very thorough and I never felt rushed like is the case with so many doctors these days. Her admin staff was quite friendly and helpful as well.

Very generous with her time with my husband and me. She answered every question in depth and never spoke down to us. We had great assurance that she's is an expert in her field and that my husband would be well taken care of by Dr. Petrossian.

Dr. Petrossian is caring, kind, thorough and makes certain that I understand what is going on regarding my medical condition. I had brain surgery and was/is experiencing issues after the surgery. I did see another neurologist prior to seeing Dr. Petrossian but felt that I was not getting the thorough care that I needed. I am so grateful to Dr. Petrossian for trying to find out what is causing my issues. The office staff is courteous, very willing to help. She is a treasure.
