Arrogant Physician
Dr. Overholt is a master at making one feel little - or belittled! I asked about moles that were of concern to me and my spouse, yet she made me feel that I should have known better, that they weren’t the cancerous type. I actually have never encountered such a rude physician.

I recently had a full body skin cancer check. First of all, please bring or wear socks. I was asked to stand on the dirty footstool of the examination table. Perhaps this was oversight, but with the high the number of patients with athlete's foot and warts, this seems unsanitary, While Dr. Overholt did a thorough job with the skin examination, a shift came when she recommended a cosmetic specialist in the office. I asked twice if her referral was medically necessary? She stated health reasons could not be ruled out, but never specifically answered yes or no. All I wanted to know is if the issue was a natural occurring age related issue? I made clear I am satisfied with and accept my appearance. The specialist she referred me to has a master's of nursing. Could she provide insight Dr. Overholt could not? It cannot be assumed that everyone coming into this office as a medical patient is interested in cosmetic procedures. I left with lingering questions.

I trust this provider as far as her knowledge goes; she knows what she is talking about. However, she does not LISTEN. AT. ALL. I used to see her for my acne, then switched to another provider at the Skin Wellness Center because you, the patient, cannot get in a word edgewise. You can't ask questions. She talks the entire time that she is in with you, and although she may know what she is talking about, trying to have a conversation with her about your health is utterly pointless. Because you cannot talk, you can't get the best possible care because you can't explain symptoms. After I stopped seeing her, my mom started seeing her for eczema, and I accompanied her to the appointment which again proved that she does NOT LISTEN. I tried asking her a question ~10 times over the course of 15-20 minutes, and then FINALLY got to ask it and by that time I was frustrated. As a healthcare provider communication and open-ended questioning is very important, and she lacks heavily in this.

Excellent Dr. She explains conditions very well and takes her time with you. Trustworthy. Does not recommend unnecessary treatments or products even thought the skin wellness Center offers many options. My recommendations were worked very well and were affordable. Would not go anywhere else.
