The best. Period. End of story.
When I was diagnosed with lung cancer, Dr. Uchiyama moved heaven and earth to get me into an operating room. She successfully removed the cancer because she’s a brilliant surgeon. And she genuinely cares. When she got the lab results that showed that the cancer hadn’t spread, she came running to my hospital room with the lab results to share them with me personally. Who does that? She is simply the best. You don’t have a better choice than Dr Uchiyama.

I met Dr. Uchiyama briefly during a consultation for a surgery for esophageal cancer. A week later I ended up in the ICU and needed surgery for my lung. Her skills are unbelievable (all the hospital staffed raved about her) but her compassion and follow up are what really make her stand out. Several procedures later, it was obvious I had the best surgeon I could possibly have. She came and visited me while I was in the hospital and it feels like you are talking to a really smart friend. By the time I had my final surgery, I was barely nervous because she had assembled an amazing team and I was completely confident in their abilities. Dr. Uchiyama's approach puts you at ease but you sense the intensity of her skill level and appreciate her high standards. This was one of the most challenging times in my life but I was blessed with an amazing surgeon who understood my fears, and was incredible at relating to my husband.
