DO NOT RECOMMEND
'If I could not leave a star I would. If you have a child suffering from anything GI related, and you are referred to Dr. Doughtery-RUN!!! Our experience with him and his nurse Chandana have been a nightmare. Doughtery does not properly update parents of minors or treat the minor accordingly. He will blame the parents for 'misunderstanding' things he never said. He will call in medication and not notify you and the instructions are vague. Doughtery does not care about children or their wellbeing. Doughtery does not care about your child. You will also be referred to him without him having any knowledge of why or symptoms. Doughtery will not read mychart for previous results as he does what he wants since he is the medical director. DO NOT have high expectations as he will fail you and your child. Once you express your unhappiness instead of trying to make it right, he will say ' You can go to Columbia or Charleston' Don't waste your time with him.

No care for the patient
Dealing with doughhertys office has been a nightmare. Upsetting. Concerning And down right scary. The fact they do not communicate get anything done in a timely manner and how their office keeps passing the buck has put my entire family in a mental anguish and strained my already tired hurt and strained family. Having a medical complex child dosent make anything easy for anyone and the fact we have waited a week for prescription changes that they have had on their desk since Monday, shows business is ran for something else other than the concern of the patient. Almost comes off as personal from Doughhertys office. I hope matter change and fast because no person dealing with already very stressful situations needs this on top of it

Joke of a human
The way he treats his patients is disgusting. No amount of education will make up for being cold towards and making harmful assumptions about your patients. Bet he's the kind of person that makes being a doctor his entire personality.

Horrible.
Went here to see him when I was 5. About 5 minutes he joined me and my parents in the room, he said the reason for my stomach problems was due to the fact I was fat. He then proceeded to say that not only me, but my mother needed to lose weight. The past 12 years I still have had stomach pain. I have lost weight, (doctors orders) and my stomach problems have gotten worse.

I was very hesitant about our first visit with him after reading the reviews. I am a healthcare provider, so I was on guard the minute he walked in. Surprisingly, he was amazing with my 13 year old daughter. He explained things to her and seemed to be concerned about finding the problem. I’m sorry that some others did not have the same experience, but I was very pleased with his care.

Very rude and rushed. Nurse isn’t much better. They ordered test and said to let them know if haven’t heard from them in 24 hours. We called and went through portal. Never could get answers. Went through portal one time with a problem and was told to continue taking a medication that child wasn’t even on.

This practice has no competition and I think thats why they believe they can treat parents and patients as rudely as they do! His bedside manor is awful!. He left my 12 year old in tears on more than one occasion. They gave us false information on test results. I got copies from my pediatrician. . He never - ever addressed my concerns about my child. Do Not Recommend this GI Practice! Go to GI Care For Kids in Atl GA. Your child will thank you !!

Condescending. Did not address the main problem. Focuses on weight only and does not address a self-conscious teen appropriately!
