Dr. Michael Elder, MD

Dr. Elder did the anesthesia for my hand surgery. It happened during my wife’s first semester of her first year in medical school. We lacked health insurance as we had not been here long enough for any to start. She had a rotation at the outpatient clinic where he worked and simply asked about the surgeon suggestion a Bier block for the surgery. Dr. Elder most graciously offered his services which he suggested would make me much more comfortable overall. He came in on his Saturday morning off before his kid’s athletic event just to participate in my surgery. My wife and I have never forgotten his retort to our profound thanks for his donated time: Just pay it forward. I can honestly say we have both tried to do exactly that in our respective fields and in our lives. What we were given, we have tried to give back to others. The surgery and anesthesia? Both went exceptionally well! A true testament to Dr. Elder’s skill.

Dr. Elder has been my anesthesiologists twice now; he is excellent at what he does. I tend to get major nausea after surgery. He listened and after a long surgery I woke up without a hint of nausea! I can’t thank him enough for that!! I am so grateful Dr. Elder Thanks, Mrs. Frank
