Dr. Michael Gnuechtel, DO

Dismissive, didn’t have accurate info from first visit for second visit. He didn’t listen. He seemed very annoyed when I asked a question.

I brought my 85 year old mother to him today and very impressed. My mother has a lot of recent health issues and was complaining about her ears popping. Also, complained about maybe a lot of wax in her ears and constant runny nose. He did a thorough exam and diagnosed her with something other than allergies. He prescribed a new nose spray that he was confident would dry her out. Very personable and friendly!

I saw this Dr. regarding throat issues and a hearing problem and I felt he was a little aloof. In my case I kept having to ask him questions and bring up symptoms and that seemed to irritate him. Then after I mentioned another symptom he started telling me that he didn't think Medicare would cover some of the tests that might be needed so he wasn't really sure about requesting them. This wasn't my problem since I am not on Medicare and he should be more careful about judging a person because you perceive them to be old enough for medicare. I expect to be treated well whether I have great insurance as I do, or whether I have medicare which I soon will. I decided right then that I would not return to him for further evaluation. When someone tries to make you feel less than important, they aren't the person I want to pay for services. Of course these are just my thoughts and feelings and others have surely had a better experience.

Dr. Gnuechtel's staff was pleasant, courteous and helpful. I liked that Dr.Gnuechtel explained everything he did and told me why he was doing what he did. The office is clean and modern. My experience with Dr. Gnuechtel was very positive and I would highly recommend him to everyone.

I had visited Dr. Gnuechtel several years ago for an ear problem. He recalled that visit, honed in on current ear problem, and gave me a practical explanation for the treatment he was prescribing. His staff is friendly, competent and helpful.

The first question he asked upon entering the room was What do you expect to gain from this visit? Gosh - let me see. Oh, I know - get well!!! His staff administered allergy tests and then proceeded to misread them so that I wasn't get the right immunizations. He let an obvious sinus infection continue without proper treatment until I had to get treatment from the Emergency Room. An allergist referred me to another ENT, who was outstanding - and competent. Gnuechtel is none of this these.
