Dr. Michael Hemphill, MD

Dr. Hemphill is generally fine, but there were times when his approach felt aggressive, and he argued with me when I was seeking help. It was a quite traumatic experience, and because of this, I would not choose to see him as my doctor again.

That I was able to accomplish my annual visit with Dr. Hemphil, who is amazing, along with my mammogram and breast ultrasound all on one day and in one place, is a huge win. The entire staff is very pleasant and professional. I feel like my concerns are heard and addressed. I am very grateful that I have such a compassionate place to access the care I need.

Physical aspects of exam weren't a problem--he was gentle, though his lack of conversational skills during the exam could have used serious improvement, barely said a word. My biggest issue (sadly, he is in the majority of OBGYNs here) he doesn't take symptoms of perimenopause seriously. Felt like he had the 'hand on the door knob' attitude and wouldn't be bothered to listen to how bad these symptoms can get because according to him, still getting a period negates it all. That and a lack of concern for my ND issues makes me feel invalidated and I will be looking for a new OBGYN in person and separately to handle the challenging symptoms in the new year. He was just 'OK' but I need more than 'OK', I need to be felt like I'm being seen and validated and this provider wasn't providing it.

Dr Hemphill is such an amazing Dr and person! He is caring and down to earth and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. He listens to any concerns you have and provides feedback and guidance when needed! I have several friends and family who also see him!

I'm a new patient at this facility in West Hartford, and was impressed by both the dr and staff. The staff were all competent, friendly and professional. Dr. Hemphill is amazing. He took the time to sit with me in his office, asking and answering questions about my health history. He listened, and was incredibly helpful in every way. This is rare these days. I always feel rushed in most medical offices. I'd highly recommend him!

Dr. Hemphill listens to your concerns, presents all your options, educates you so you can make informed decisions about your health. He is transparent about your health and side effects you might experience with things like birth control and childbirth. The staff are personable, compassionate, and articulate. The Enfield, West Hartford, and Hartford location all offer a clean environment and peaceful space when you enter. I had three healthy pregnancies and births with this practice and felt accommodated each time. They have great ultrasound technicians as well, I have the clearest sonograms to show my girls one day. Very thankful to have found a great practice.

Dr. Hemphill was so friendly and made what is normally an uncomfortable appointment very comfortable. He explained everything clearly and answered all of my questions. I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely be coming back!

Dr. Hemphill, is always at ease which makes the annual exam comfortably easy! If there is an issue he asks the questions that produces answers to either solve the problem or recommend the necessary steps to solve.

I wish I was told upfront that he was running 45 minutes behind schedule. I might have suggested we reschedule instead of waiting around for almost an hour.

I came to my appointment as a new patient. It was the first time any staff welcomed me as a new patient to their practice. It was a nice touch. The assistant was polite. The doctor was professional. The check out experience was good. The appointment went smooth and efficient but I didn't feel rushed. Overall a very good experience.

Dr. Hemphill is amazing and excellent with patient care. He does have a gentle touch and a nice smile on his face. He’s always on time, so you never have to wait at all. He explains everything thoroughly and make sure you understand. I recommend Dr. Hemphill 100%

I have suffered with endometriosis for over 20yrs. My ObGyn is Dr. Nelson. She referred me to her colleague, Dr. Hemphill for my hysterectomy surgery. Surgery was great. My recovery has been speedy! I’m feeling so much better! Had no operative or recovery issues. Highly recommend Dr. Hemphill .
