Dr. Michael Herbenick, MD

I was referred to Dr. Herbenick by another of my doctors. I had 4 total surgeries with Dr. Herbenick. One on the left arm, and 3 on the right, with the third being a total shoulder replacement. They make you sign a paper saying you agree to 6 weeks of pain meds. Well, I made the mistake of assuming someone had tested this and it was enough medication for the surgery. Don’t assume. They literally left me to suffer In pain! The worst part was having to deal with Dr. Herbenick’s trainer, Katie. She had no compassion or empathy for what I was going through. At one point, she even blocked me on MyChart! Dr. Herbenick wasn’t much better. He refused to give me anything for the pain. That is cruel and unusual behavior when you’re in massive pain. I decided to let things calm down for several months and sent Dr. Herbenick a message explaining how the situation felt from my POV. Katie wasted no time firing back at me that Dr. Herbenick would no longer treat me. Unbelievable!! Beware!!

Dr. Herbinick operated on my shoulder on March 22, 2023. Today on October 11, 2023 my arm feels great with no pain and I am completely satisfied with the movement of my shoulder and arm.

Very efficient office and staff

He was very kind. He sat in front of me and listened and spoke to me instead of going around the room fiddle with stuff. I definitely will see him again when I need help.

Kind, patient and listened with a caring look. He was in no hurry to get out of the room he explained everything clearly.

He had a welcoming connection. He understood that I wanted to get better without surgery or pain killers. When I asked for an explanation of the pain, he explained the essence of the problem. It was a repeat of issue that was treated 4.5 years ago. I received exercises to start in 5 days.

Dr Herbenick previously fixed my left shoulder. He did an excellent job then and I trust him to do so again with my right.

My insurance was incorrectly billed. I was referred by the VA hospital but you billed my insurance, you will need to correct this.

Dr. Herbenick is a skilled surgeon. I am healing very quickly.

Epic unexpected downtime was in progress. Appeared to be no downtime procedure for checkout or scheduling future appt. Would have expected staff to possibly log pts name and give pt a call to schedule appt when systems came back up. Instead, pts (me) were just told to call back to the office possibly tomorrow. No downtime discharge instructions available. It was a rough day across the system.

Very informative and very easy to communicate with Dr Herbenick.

Herbenick is the very best

The examining room was c-o-l-d! The doctor could have zeroed in on my functional goals better, what I wanted from treatment, as my ADLs are unlike others', or telling me that I may have unreasonable expectations which might (or might not!) require modifications of my lifestyle.

They are all great people!!!

Everyone is so pleasant at Miami Valley South.

Dr. Herbenick was great but his assistant was dismissive and I had to ask for results that then seemed readily available. I had to ask again how to follow up on those results. It was like pulling teeth to get help from her.
