Strange, disappointing appointment
During my first appointment for cataracts, after tests were done, he actually refused to let me ask questions. Who does that ??? It may have been over something rather petty involving a misunderstanding/confusion with a back office staff employee some days prior. That had been peacefully resolved though and I had no ill will. But management had got involved, so I assume he knew about it. If that WAS the reason he was unprofessional towards me, it doesn't make him look very good. In any case, his office manager said later when I called that he ALWAYS answers questions. She seemed shocked or disbelieving. So there you have it. He doesn't normally refuse to answer questions, but that's how he treated me, and without explanation. Of course I decided not to return.

Disappointed Ex Patient – Jul 15, 2022

Dr Herion treated me with cataract surgery for both eyes. I was extremely nervous and concerned about my condition as I had delayed surgery due to Covid. He was extremely caring and very patient with me, answered all my questions with care. He never rushed me and was very professional. I highly recommend Dr. Herion and Carrot Eye Center.

I have been a Cameraman / Photographer my whole life. My sight is my business so I must trust my vision to someone who is duly qualified and explains all procedures before moving ahead. The man has no ego to satisfy. His only satisfaction is a happy patient with good vision. It is because of this that I take my entire family to him and have recommended 5 patients who now use him and have also followed him from the other practice. Why would anyone want to lose such a gem? Today was the first day visiting his new office with my family. As always it was an enjoyable, pleasant experience. With his state of the are equipment in most cases you will not have to deal with those annoying drops that sting and dilate your eyes. Everything is electronic. I was impressed. You will be also. Give them a try. You won't be sorry Tell them Jeff sent you!

Swagel does not allow insurance for laser surgery for cataracts....you have to pay $1900 per eye but if you want the knife it's covered.....but they won't tell you this until you schedule for surgery

The surgery was successful on my left eye and I love seeing again. However, I was disappointed with the immediate follow up care. After being told all was well I sought a second opinion. Dr. Carlson, an optometrist, determined I was suffering from macular edema and referred me back to Swagel Wootton for treatment. Dr. Herion was great and corrected the problem. My second surgery for the right eye is scheduled in March.

He closed wrong vein and the vein i needed closed was never closed even though he kept telling me it is. Emergency room visits told me otherwise i kept getting superficial blood clots and the ultrasound techs all say it is not closed. Pain pain pain hurts so bad. Stay away just made things worse. I should have never believed them. He is an eye dr practicing laser vein closings scary.
