Hostile and unknowledgeable
Michael Iacono was hostile from the moment he came in to see me. He claimed me not wanting a male doctor to take a vaginal swab was 'not allowing him to do his job'. After promising to do an intravaginal ultrasound refused the treatment. He even refused to look at my past ultrasounds. Ruptured cyst pain is often compared to childbirth and he refused me the medication that works on this sort of pain. Iacono clearly has no experience with women's issues which I imagine is a big part of working in the ER and had no desire to dig deeper into my EXTREME pain. He was dismissive of my advocacy for my own health and very argumentative. I still can't believe an emergency room doctor told me 'If you don't like the treatment you're receiving here you can just leave.'
