Not thorough and doesn't listen
I explained my symptoms and told him that my previous urologist in another city told me I may need to repeat the procedure if the same symptoms arise, which they have. He did not do the diagnosis needed to confirm that the previous problem has recurred. I now have the same symptoms (UTI) despite the medication he put me on. He only treated a symptom, not the underlying problem.

Great experience and outcome in troubled times...
I've been a patient of Dr. Jacobs for over a decade. I recently had an acute bladder issue, and shortly after that, I had prostate reduction procedures and follow-ups with Dr. Jacobs. Communication with Dr. Jacobs and his office team was excellent, both as an outpatient and while in the hospital. He set expectations appropriately, and the surgical procedure went great. I feel 20 years younger in that department.I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs and his team for their excellent urology care both in the office and in surgical procedures.

Bipolar TURP
Dr. Jacobs recently performed a Bipolar TURP for my BPH Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. I am a retired physician and researched all of the methods for BPH. This is the traditional approach to this problem newer laser or vapor techniques. My surgery went great and I was in the hospital for two days with CBI - continuous bladder irrigation -which I believe made a big difference in my recovery. I went home without a catheter and did not even require any pain or urinary pain meds. The care I received from Dr Jacobs and staff, both pre-op and post op as well as care at Palm Beach gardens' Hospital were superb.

Dr. Jacobs is the Absolute Best
I saw Dr. Jacobs today for the 3rd time. He is extremely personable, intelligent, punctual, and definitely puts you at ease. I am 78 years old with prostrate issues. Had been seeing a Urologist and Primary care physician in another State for years who had been prescribing medication, which, it turns out was harmful to my kidneys. Now I have Stage 3 Kidney disease. It was Dr. Jacobs who ordered tests and discovered my situation. In a few shorts months I probably would have already been on dialysis if I had not seen Dr. Jacobs. He is the very Best and I strongly recommend him to anyone, man or woman. Even my new Kidney Specialist had the same glowing recommendation. He takes his time reviewing and discussing your issues and is conservative in his approach to treatment. His approach and attitude is a great help to someone in my condition.Thank you Dr. Jacobs - you are the very best.

Excellent Physician
In the last few years, I’ve dealt with two serious conditions requiring a Urologist. One required a referral to a Radiologist, while a second has required in office treatments on a regular basis over the past few years. I was further treated by Dr. Jacobs as a hospital outpatient on two occasions. My background and experience with Dr. Jacobs is extensive. He is absolutely everything you could want in an MD. Clearly knowledgeable, experienced and caring, he has an excellent personal manner while advising all you need to know about your situation in clear layman’s language. Dr. Jacobs is a solo practitioner (a real plus for me) with, knowledgeable and professional staff backing him up. Somehow, and remarkably, I have been taken on time on my many visits.Without being overly dramatic, I believe the care of Dr. Jacobs has certainly maintained and prolonged my quality of life.

Dr Michael A Jacobs
I just lost my sister to bladder cancer and I feared I was having the same symptoms that she had. Dr Jacobs listened to me, didn’t say that I was overreacting and set up every known test that I should have. He knew I was frightened and thanks be to God i didn’t have that horrible cancer. I think he is a caring and extremely knowledgeable urologist. I wish he were my primary care doctor.

I went to Dr Michael Jacobs for an issue after pregnancy with my kidney, recurring Utis and bladder problems. I kept having symptoms that felt like a uti despite negative test result. He and his staff at that point refused to treat me and said “we don’t know what’s wrong with you”. Even with an internal bladder exam and MRI they still came to this conclusion. It was demeaning, dismissive and short sighted. I was in distress and this made it worse. I went to a female gyno/urologist who treated me successfully. She explained that I was having bladder spasms and helped with recurring uti’s. I would NOT recommend this Dr if you are a woman or have any kind of complicated symptoms.

He Saved My Life
I met with Dr. Jacobs in January 2022. He was a nice guy and very professional. I had had issues with my PSA jumping all over the place and settling around 4.3-4.6. I had a MRI which had some questionable spots. He recommend a MRI fusion biopsy of the prostate which he performed. When we got the pathology report back I found out I had cancer in two spots with Gleason scores of 8 and 7. He told me all the options. I asked him what he would do and he immediately said he would consider taking the prostate out before the cancer had a chance to escape. He also recommended I get a PSMA pet scan right away and to schedule the surgery. I contacted Dr. Vincent Laudone of Memorial Sloan Kettering and had the prostate removed robotically. I had the surgery on April 6th and was able to walk my daughter down the isle for her wedding on April 30th. The cancer had not escaped the prostate so I am one of the lucky ones. I dodged the bullet thanks to Dr. Michael Jacobs' expertise.

I have been seeing him for the past 15 or more years and find him excellent and recommend him to all. Most recently he referred me for PAE ( prostatic arterial embolism) with a Dr Bhatia at he Univ of Miami to resolve a long standing difficulty in peeing. I'm putting this out at his suggestion for those of us who did not want an operation ("roto-rooter") and are tired of getting up all night and feeling like you are peeing into a brick wall when you do go. please discuss this procedure with him. It's much easier than any other method and does not carry the drug side effect of the Flomax/Finesteride etc. Should you be entertaining this after speaking to him I have indicated I'd be willing to let you know exactly what happens and what recovery is like and he can provide my contact info.

Been going to Dr Jacobs quite a few years and very happy with him. Now at 81 my prostate reached a point where I was waking up 3 to 4 times a night, and about each hour or less, during day, but when the urge came on suddenly I had to get to a bathroom within 15 seconds or it would start without me. Very embarrassing and I could not go anywhere if not next to a bathroom. Had to keep empty water bottle in the car! Dr Jacobs went over the different options, but instead of the "roto rutter" method that is tough at my age he recommended something that was approved about 4 years ago. It is called Prostatic Artery Embolization. It is only done by a Interventional Radiologist. It blocks blood flow to the prostate and the prostate shrinks, I found a Doctor in Coconut Creek FL, Dr. Anderson, about 45 minutes awayand visited him. He explained the procedure and I went back the following week to have it done. Was very successful- I can go out again! Study it on line, and his phone is 786-534-2555

I have been a patient for a number of years, and have referred. many of my friends. My long term history of BPH and inability to urinate adequatelyhas affected my quality of. life. Dr. Jacobs recently suggested a procedure called PAE, and referred me to Dr Bhatia to have the procedure done. What a life changer!!! I cannot. thank Dr. Jacobs enough for his recommendation. I would encourage those with my history to explore this as an option.

Dr Jacobs and Tom Larkin PA, are very efficient and knowledgable. With a rising PSA, they scheduled an MRI. Watched for 2 cycle. Recently, wasn't voiding and after testing we scheduled TURP. Had it done April 30, 2021. Perfect results, as all functions back to normal and biopsy showed no cancer. I love my Drs.
