Best doc around ??????????

Dr. Kam used to be such a great GI but as of 8/16/2023 his practice is run exclusively by his PAs. I was in the hospital for 7 days for GI issues, followed up with him right after (or at least I tried ) i got an appointment to see his PA I came see her got a HIDA scan recommended I did it and the PA got me the results and the wrong ones. Such a shame I used to trust him with my life literally. No any more. I am still in pain and with not guidance from him. I am so let down. Please if you care about your health find another GI.

I booked an appointment with them and then I showed up and the refused to see me and then sent me a bill for $125. I suggest finding a different doctor for needs that won’t jerk you around and then bill you.

My first encounter with Dr. Kam was in 2012 in the hospital and I was pleased with him and the way he cared for his patients. His office staff at that time were very pleasant and easy to talk to. However, lately he has become rushed during his office visits and the fact that you have to wait close to an hour (55 mins) just to get into an exam room and then wait another 10-15 mins there. When Dr. Kam does come in he is so rushed that it seems like he doesn't listen closely to what the problem is. This isn't the way he was at first and I liked that he didn't seem so rushed back in 2012, but now, I just don't know if I will want to go back. He's a good doctor but too may patients now and way too rushed for my liking. Some of the individuals on his office staff are not friendly and I try and avoid them if I can, but that's another issue. I liked the office that he used to be in as it wasn't as cramped as this newer office. He also schedules way too many patients in an hour.

Dr. Kam has made my worries about tests for pain in my stomach. I would recommend him to anyone suffering with GI issues.

Dr. Kam seemed rushed during my child’s appointment. His bedside manner was very clipped and abrupt. Upon first meeting, he performed a slight physical exam and said I had cancer. He did not perform any tests at all, just blurted the word cancer out without explanation. He had his office schedule tests a week later. It was a very stressful week waiting for the tests.

Making an appointment was a nightmare! I should have known then just to go somewhere else; day of the appointment we waited over an hour hour to see the doctor for 5 minutes- so sad!

Dr kam is very thorough. He is caring and compassionate. I highly recommend him!!!

I was diagnosed with UC in February of 2013. I moved and my doctor recommended Dr. Kam. He put me on a medication that my body rejected completely. I lost so much weight I was down to 90 lbs and was extremely sick. I was in so much pain I didn't know what to do. He told me to stop taking it. I started to feel better and he wanted to try it again. I was worse than I ever was and when I called for help he couldn't get me in for a month. I switched doctors and am so happy.

I asperated while under anaesthesia. I told three people, I had heart burn really bad. All told me this is normal. They sent me home with an antibiotic. I came home and was coughing up blood. Went to Beaumont and spent three days in hospital. Asperation pneumonia. The procedure was done Dec 2 2016 and my throat is still rough. A week ago my voice started to come back to normal. I was on antibiotics for 3 weeks. Had to see an ENT. I would suggest taking something to calm stomach and heart burn.

Had stomach pain, put me on acid reflux pills - prilosec - am now waiting at Urgent care because I have not been able to eat for several days now. I believe it is because of the prilosec. I think it lowered the acid in my stomach so much that I'm not able to break down food anymore.
