Professionalism and Quality
As with all men, having your PSA level checked is a standard thing. While my PSA was below the 'threshold of concern' for my age, Dr. Kogut was concerned about my PSA increasing more than he thought it should vs. blood work from 3 years ago. He then advised me to see a Urologist for potential prostate cancer. I thought he was overreacting. After all, my PSA was officially in the 'OK' zone and I felt fine. Reluctantly, I saw a Urologist. While the prostate exam came back fine, a follow-up MRI showed some suspicious areas and 12 biopsy samples were taken which identified 5 cancerous areas in my prostate- 2 of them being in the intermediate unfavorable cancer category. I am now going through radiation treatments for prostate cancer. My respect for Dr. Kogut is now immense. Due to his skill, wisdom and assertiveness, he identified my prostate cancer very early. This is exactly what people look for in a doctor- expertise, wisdom and just being an overall great person to work with.

Dr. Kogut cares. He will take the time to listen and understand to assess your situation. He provided helpful insight that I passed up on my first visit for therapy. Seeking that route now.. I had the impression that he knew what was going on right away, but he was not too quick, because he did not want to miss any variables. Open up to a Doctor like him, and you will get results.
