He is so caring and makes sure you have the right care. He’s always willing to help you with anything you need. Very thorough and he listens to you. He doesn’t try to rush you. He is very knowledgeable about just about anything. He finds out what you need and will research it so you can be assured he gets right answers. He’s a blessing to all his patients. We won’t go to anyone else.

Dr, Kooistra has been my family doctor for about 15 years. He's knowledgeable about a wide range of problems, and up-to-date on standard treatments. He's also very personable, taking time to address of all my concerns. While not inclined to favor alternative therapies, he advocates common-sense measures such as exercise and healthy eating, and is wary of fad diets. I'd give him five stars were it not for the front-office staff, which needs improvement. A case in point -- I left a voicemail on a Sunday, requesting a simple Rx renewal. Checking on Tuesday, I was told they were busy with other patients and couldn't promise to call it in the next day. Finally, on Thursday, my pharmacist faxed them and got authorization to fill my prescription. There usually are three people handling the work load for Dr. Kooistra and CNP Slattery, who shares his office. If adequately trained, they should be able to avoid backlogs that inconvenience patients.
