Car accident
Dr. (If u want to call yourself that) had the worst bedside manner. I was in a lot of pain for 6 months. He said”O you will be fine”. What a horrible experience.

Keep looking.
Unfortunately I saw him in an ER and he all but flat out said he didn’t want to take care of me. He told me that I shouldn’t have come to the ER-that I should have gone to my primary care. Well duh??? I would have if my doctor worked on Fridays and I needed to get through the weekend. I went to the ER out of necessity not by choice. He spent the visit leaned up against the wall with his arms crossed and didn’t believe that I didn’t have hypertension, diabetes or high cholesterol. He was rude and it was obvious that he didn’t care whatsoever. My co-pay is quite a bit and I can’t believe that I have to pay all that money for subpar care. He somewhat came around but it was too little too late and his diagnosis what very questionable. Look elsewhere if you want to see a doctor that actually cares.

Best Doctor
Dr Lara was the best and most caring doctor that I have ever seen. He performed my gastric bypass in 2014 and I'm very thankful for him. I was always very happy with all my follow ups. Very caring doctor.

Never again – Jul 22, 2022

I've never been seen by Dr. Lara however, I've know him since kindergarten and we grew up together through high school as well. In knowing him all those years I've known him to be a very sweet, caring, sincere and gentle individual. I was online looking for another physicians and Dr. Michael Lara's name popped up and noticed a couple of reviews. We are all human and at times don't feel well or had a bad day for whatever reason. His demeanor may have been due to something else happening in his life and possibly came across a rude or standoffish. It happens, maybe you should give him another chance and not judge so harshly. He's a person of integrity and respect. I enjoyed being friends with him throughout the years. Respectfully, Yamira Anna Diaz

I went in with my mother to help her. She's hard of hearing, and gets nervous, so I go to help her if she can't hear, or forgets to ask questions. He was incredibly rude. No bedside manner at all. Completely unprofessional. He would ask her questions, then cut her off mid-sentence. He told her, her issue was from a surgery from 1980, and for her to go back to those Dr.s. He had no empathy, grossly rude, and acted so bothered. I can just imagine how he speaks to elderly who go in alone. He has no business working in the medical field. None

When I spoke to him during my office visit he was very condescending and rude. He walked in angry and did not even acknowledge my family member in the room with me. He also dismissed all of my symptoms. On the plus side the office staff was nice and it was easy to get an appointment with him, however I will not be rescheduling again.

Dr. Lara has performed several surgeries on me in the last 5 years, and I have been very pleased with his bedside manner, professionalism, knowledge, and how well he explains things. He has given me all facts, and possible complications or outcomes. Two of my surgeries were emergencies, and I had to be transferred from another hospital to his hospital.

Dr. Lara and his team has perfectly prepared and performed the gastric sleeve surgery on me February 8, 2016. He has been considerate and genuine in his care for me. I went to work one week after my surgery and have been able to take charge of my health. I am so thankful to have gone with him, to have a new self-confidence, to continue in success while losing and gaining a new life back. I wish I had done it 15-20 years ago.
