If you are diabetic do not let Dr Lowhorn treat your feet. He is not qualified and my husband has gangrene in the bone now and severe infection after months of treatment for ulcerated toe from Lowhorn. His Toe will be amputated in a day or two. The above info was given by Physicians at hospital. He is a good doctor but NOT for Diabetics!!! Please beware!!!

I saw Dr Lowhorn for plantar fasciitis. I waited 45 minutes for him to see me. He advised me to give up exercise walking forever, to buy a Pelotron bike ($2000) or similar bike. No matter that I have a dog that needs walking & that I like the outdoors. I don’t even walk very fast at most 3.5 mph. Advised me to walk differently altogether (non-exercise walking), gentle, flat footed & like I was dancing or bee-bopping to music. He said he did not believe in steroid injections. & did not even prescribe a NSAID. Two weeks later later I saw another DPM who prescribed an oral dose pack of steroids because my problem advanced to my ankle tendons & also gave me a foot wrap. Now I’m taking a prescription NSAID. I’m finally much better but still mending because of the delay & bad treatment by Dr.Lowhorn. A total waste of time & money, not to mention the extra weeks of annoying pain.

My parents are 94 and 91 and in wheelchairs. We love Dr. Lowhorn and his staff. They are so helpful and kind. My mother had a pressure sore on her ankle, which was very concerning in view of her diabetes. Through Dr. Lowhorn's outstanding care, persistence, and encouragement, the problem was resolved. His nurse went above and beyond to help us order pressure relieving boots. Her compassion is a blessing to my parents and also to me as their caregiver. We look forward to our visits every 9 wks!

I've been seeing Dr. Lowhorn for almost 10 years, and am switching doctors now. When he had his own practice it was a much more enjoyable experience, but now it takes a week to even get a call back from his office to make an appointment- if they call back at all. The phone is never answered and by the time you get ahold of a real person, you still have to wait another 3 weeks to see the doctor. Dr. Lowhorn is a wonderful doctor, but dealing with his support staff is more trouble than it's worth.

Outstanding care. Even when I do not have an appointment but need to see him they fit me in with little or no wait. He is very attentive to my concerns and takes time to explain everything to me. His staff is very friendly and professional. Other than being sick it is a great experience.
