Best Surgeon I have ever had very professional, trying everything possible before surgery. Having had this op 3 times now he is by far the best Dr I have ever had. I would recommend Dr Mckisic for any future surgeries. His manner is impeccable! His staff are amazing at his Boulder office. He changed my life from being in excruciating pain to nothing. I told him how grateful full I was for him doing this op. How many Drs do you know that say you made my day!!

Dr Mckisic easy demeanour made me feel very comfortable from the first appt I had with him. His approach to treating my condition was very methodical, much that you would expect from his prior experience in the U.S. Air Force as a PJ (Pararescue). A super nice person, and even better surgeon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dr. McKisic is the best doctor I have ever had! From the first time I met him until my care was complete he was extremely understanding! I asked a lot of questions and had a lot of anxiety. He was able to talk me through everything and treated me like a human! I wish I could have taken him with me when we moved because I am afraid I won't be able to find anyone to match his service. His nurses are also amazing and are a great resource!!

I had chronic low back pain for years. Had a fracture, 2 herniated discs with nerve compression, and Sciatica. I did not have any quality of life nor much hope as all previous treatments and medications failed. On 12/12/16, Dr. McKisic did a fusion surgery on my L4,L5,S1. Despite the pain from surgery,I noticed a positve result almost immediately. I am still in the healing process but getting better each day. Dr.Mckisic is an excellent surgeon and very personable. I would recommend him to all.

Poor experience with ofc personal to get an appointment in timely manor, On day of appointment I was in there office for 2 hours, got to see or talk to the doctor approx 10 minutes, Was told I would see the doctor and they first sent in his PA, I questioned it and she got an attitude and said he will be in but I would have to wait because he was with another patient. And she asked questions that I have no clue to answer, when asked the DR, he told me it doesn't matter.

I first met Dr. McKisic as a patient at Memorial Hospital where he was the on-call neurosurgeon. He was/is extremely knowledgeable on my rare disease and anything he doesn't know, he's willing to research and find the answers. Making an appointment can be testy sometimes but if the situation is truly urgent, he and the office staff are good at working me in. I have to have a neurosurgeon and Dr. McKisic is one of the best ones I've had around the United States.

Although Dr. McKisic seems to be a very good doctor, he is evidently unable to keep up with his current patient load. Getting appointments in a timely manner is impossible and he does not respond to messages left through his staff. Seven to nine weeks is the apparent lag.Overall, I feel this lack of providing patient care in a timely manner and not responding to patient issues is unsatisfactory. A formal written complaint has been sent to Memorial - University Hospital.
