We sent an "emergency" heart patient , 91 yrs old, war veteran, to Dr.Metzger for a "second opinion". All he did was read the "records" from the previous hospital; did NO TESTS on the patient's heart...which is why we sent him; Kept him all day with 2 other Drs present who had the same "I don't care" attitude. It was questionable as to whether they were even cardiologists?? Their final analysis (after doing nothing for hours) was "we don't think your heart pains are due to the heart....... WHAT?? This a very serious CAD patient and I think he was "too much" for their limited experience? IF Mass General/Brigham is going to buy up all of these rural clinics, they should staff them with PROFESSIONALS only!!. Our patient came back in the same painful state that we sent him! 3 other doctors later commented that "reading old notes is NOT A SECOND OPINION!". His heart was never looked at via any kind of test.The next day he had a full-blown episode which was life-threatening........

Dr. Metzger is an extremely competent Cardiologist. I constantly and highly recommend him! He has a great bedside manner and is a consummate professional in his field. He responds immediately when called upon. Great Staff!
