EXCEPTIONAL CARE
Dr. Morton and his staff are one of the most caring groups I have seen through my entire Colon cancer treatment! Dr. Mortin himself is genuinely kind & caring! His gentle demeanor is calming & reassuring. He talked me off many ledges during my visits with him. He takes all the time you need to thoroughly explain as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have. If sending messages through the portal, you get a prompt reply or a phone call back with an answer. As for the staff... Dianne is a Treasure as is Shilah (sp). Always polite and making you feel welcome and not rushed. If you are unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with Colon Cancer, I highly recommend Dr. Morton's team of caring professionals!

Superficial exam and misdiagnosis
Dr Morton diagnosed me with a fistula after a quick exam. He urged that I be operated on (by him) in a couple of weeks at his first opening. When I attempted to ask questions about the procedure and/or any potential "downsides" or complications that could come from such fistulotomy surgery, he was not very forthcoming in helping me understand the condition or options for anesthesia or the possible surgical complications. On further research, I discovered that there could be many complications and unsatisfactory side effects from this surgery, so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. A few weeks later, I was lucky enough to get an appointment with a leading colorectal surgeon at the Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA. This surgeon did a much more lengthy & thorough exam, including using a video camera & scope (Dr Morton did not use one). The Lahey doctor said I have NO fistula, no evidence that I ever had one (they don't usually just go away or heal), and I certainly did not need surgery.

Would recommend! Very professional and supportive. Took time to answer all my questions and ease my concerns. Most importantly, he is skilled in his field. He performed a fistulotomy and I have hardly any post surgical pain and very easy recovery!

Do not hesitate to use Dr Morton for any required surgical procedure! Very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain in great detail all of your options! Portsmouth Hospital is the best! I had a rather large fatty Lipoma mass in the buttock area not a fun location. This has been growing for the last ten+ years and finally its gone! Only issue, I was not quite prepared for the 3 weeks plus time this incision took to heal. Gives new meaning the phrase "Just Sit On It"! Thank You Dr. Morton

The doctor did not take the time to do his examination. Just rushed to have a surgery. The scheduler is very pushy.
