Dr. Michael Oechsel, MD

This was my first visit to the doctor, and I was for an ongoing severe hip pain that at age 62 is sufficient to prevent me from comfortably, taking my dog for a walk even. The lack of interest in my issue or probing questions with staggering to me. he watched me walk three pieces inside the office to look at my gate but didn’t take the time to have me walk up and down the hallway or he would’ve noticed the discomfort and awkwardness of my walk. He was going to be happy with just prescribing physical therapy , rather than looking deeper within an MRI to see if there might be an underlying cause at the x-ray did not show. This was extremely disappointing because I have had previous experience with this practice and wonderful physicians who literally changed my life with their diagnosis and surgery on my spine.

I was worried about the cortisone vaccine I was going to need for my rotator cuff. However, when the nurse applied numbing to the injection site and Dr. Oechsel administered the shot, first using ultrasound to pinpoint the exact location, it was quick and painless. I appreciated Dr. Oechsel's and the nurse's attention and manner.

If you are looking for a doctor that is empathetic Dr. Oechsel is not your doctor. His apathy was palpable. Could care less and it shows. Barely looked over my X-rays and gave no real thought to pain relief. It was a serious waste of my time.

Dr. Oechsel should retire rather than just phoning it in every day. Has no real concern about his patients. Just goes through the motions. Really a failure as a doctor.

The best! I am a physical therapist who has worked in orthopedic rehab in the Bay Area for over twenty years, so, when I wrecked my knee I could make a well-informed decision. Having treated literally hundreds of post-op patients, I based my choice on which patients had the fastest recovery and best overall result. Dr. Oechsel is truly the pro’s pro. I couldn’t be happier with Dr. Oechsel’s expertise and the personable way he communicated with me through the entire process. Five Stars!
