Dr. Michael Oldenburg, MD

I saw Dr. Oldenburg only ONCE after audiogram Symptoms-plugged right ear, tinnitus, hearing whooshing/heartbeat with activity, bending, laying in bed trying to fall asleep it’s roar in my ear, dizziness, brainfog. When my balance worsened (wobble walk, walking into doorframes, bending, turning). Dr. Oldenburg asked if I heard my eyes move, I said no (just my “normal” open/shut click sideway sandpaper). He scheduled a thin slice CT to rule out Superior Canal Dehiscence Syndrome(SCDS) a rare disorder he knew of. CT showed hole on right/thinning on left.Sent to Froedtert ENT and VEMP test positive. Middle Fossa Craniotomy 2/2021 to plug hole. Improvement then symptoms back plus new echo voice bodily sounds/footsteps. Revision MFC 3/2023 to plug/patch again and 90% head noise gone! I am so thankful for Dr. Oldenburg for having heard of SCDS and ordering the must be “THIN SLICE CT” to show SCDS. SCDS has many symptoms which you can have few of or many auditory/vestibular minor/major

He didn't have a clue about my other medical conditions. Although I am under the care of Dr J Hutto with Prevea health, Oldenburg wanted to "refer me to the vascular team at Prevea" which made me wonder if he even read my chart before appointment. I brought in some film for tests done previously. Oldenburg laughed at me and said it was "old school" and he COULDN'T EVEN READ THE FILM. Rather than address the cause for my visit, Oldenburg ordered CT scans and decided that I needed other specialists. He never even read my chart. I still have so much anger over how he treated me, that he is lucky I have not sought out legal advice. One of the worst 'doctors' I have had the sad experience to have had an appointment with. NO RECOMMENDATION.

Terrible bedside manner. Made me feel like my symptoms where all in my head. He wouldn't listen to what I was telling him. Would NOT recommend!

Dr Oldenburg was very good at explaining results in terms I could understand.Also,after vist reviews were very thorough and understandable.

First time appointment, I found this Dr. Knowledgeable in his field and direct in tests needed to complete diagnosis. Bedside manner excellent, and easy to converse with.
