Dr. Michael Parra, MD

After being medevaced over 4,000 miles to Broward Medical Center, Dr. Parra was assigned as my physician. He refused to see me until my registration and insurance was verified, which the Trauma nurses saw to. He was within 10’ of me, would not speak or look at me, and NEVER saw me as a patient. Instead he sent a resident and some guy who is either a PA or an NP that told me that I was being discharged because “I didn’t need to be here” (at BMC). I am 4,500 miles from home and my closet family lives 12 hours away - how do you think I felt. Moreover, Dr. Parra would NOT return calls from the Pharmacy to confirm a change in my medications. I will be filing formal complaints with BMC, the Florida Agency for Health Care, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the Office of Civil Rights. Furthermore, I plan to contact the Veterans Administration and request they file suit against Parra for discrimination and malpractice against a disabled Veteran.

Stay away...Staff reflects the attitude of the Doctor....disorganized, non-communicative, and arrogant

Active listener good communicator easy to talk with broad knowledge base, takes time you are not rushed . Is aware of anxiety clients are under while sitting in his office making life changing decisions.
