Dr. Michael Paul Gimness, MD

He takes his time and you don't feel rushed. He goes over everything and answers any questions you might have concerning your health or tests you may have had done. One of the best doctors I have ever been to.

Twice this doctor overcharged me and tried to get me to pay more than I should. One time he said I owed $740+. When I insisted that someone go over the bill, I only owed $25. Another time they overcharged me for something and when a credit got issued they didn't tell me. Had it not been for another instance of them charging me for a bogus charge, I never would have known; but they refused to credit me because they insisted I pay a no-show fee on a day when I was there but they refused to see me. WATCH YOUR MONEY CAREFULLY.Also, it was always a constant wait at this office. Even on a tele-visit once I had to wait an hour. Worse, usually once the doctor did see me, he would take phone calls while he was in the room. Not medical emergencies, but office admin, and computer issues.... so after waiting 30-45 minutes after getting into the room, he would interrupt my session and make we wait while he worked on computer issues.I RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PRACTICE.

Due to a traffic obstruction on the interstate, we had arrived 13 minutes late for my mother's appointment. I was told that I missed my appointment, and would need to reschedule for another day. Both my mother and I had been patients of Dr. Gimness for years. In those years, this was the first time we had been late for a scheduled appointment. Since I had taken a half day from work for this appointment, I found their need to reschedule us for another day to be unacceptable. After all, more often than not, we are made to wait 30 minutes or more for either the practitioner or the doctor to see us for each appointment. Sometimes we've waited more than an hour. There is no question that Dr. Gimness and his nurse practitioners are excellent at practicing medicine. However, my time is just as valuable. So, I must say that I really do find it unfortunate that I will no longer be patronizing the Family Medical Specialist facility. I will be looking for another doctor closer to home.

I'm not the biggest fan of doctors in general. They've never really helped me much, or looked into labs and medical records thoroughly. Just a quick glance. Dr. Gimness took his time going through my records and was meticulous about the details. He took his time piecing everything together. That same day, I got a diagnosis that explained pretty much everything. Ive never stayed with a PCP long, as I didn't trust the other MDs, but I will be staying with Dr. Gimness as long as I live in FL. Dr. Gimness changed my view on doctors the past month. He cracks jokes, explains medical terminology in layman's terms ,and he is one of a small handful of doctors I've met, that genuinely tries to figure out the issue. The man is very intelligent. I am quite glad to be in his care and am relieved to have a doctor that I know will put 100% effort into helping me Very thankful to have gone to him. The staff is wonderful as well. Thank you for giving me hope again Doc!

Dr. Gimness is phenomenal! He is attentive, and gives you the level of care you expect and require. He treats all of my family. He currently has 2 amazing nurse practitioners that work along his side. They are ever so caring and knowledgeable. His staff is the absolute best! Check in and check out is a breeze. The MA's are experienced. He has an in-house dispensary, which is awesome. The techs are bright and resourceful. Dr. Gimness and his entire staff show you nothing but compassion.

Staff is very rude. If they didn’t want to work they should find another job. Especially Stephany. I called to request records sent for a referral and she was practically yelling at me on the phone with an attitude. She should really watch how to talks to patients.

Dr. Gimness is only our 2nd PCP in 31 years. He is thorough and takes very good care of us. He is very caring, a good listener and an awesome Dr. We cannot say enough good things about "Dr. G". Four family members go to him.

I have called the office and left 2 voice mails. I am new to the area and need a new Dr. Still haven't received a return call!

I too followed him from Winter Haven because I think he's an excellent family physician. He will not hesitate to recommend a specialist if he thinks you should see one. He's friendly, very intelligent, and serious about your health matters. I've never experienced a more helpful family physician...anywhere. His front office staff experiences a lot of turnover, but several have been there for a good length of time, they're the good ones that meet or exceed his expectations.

This was by far the best experience I have had at a Dr. Office. He was addressed all my concerns and was very patient and understanding. He took his time and did a thorough evaluation. I feel like I will never need to find another doctor!!

Dr. Gimness has been my primary care physician for over a year! He takes extra time to make sure all my concerns are answered! I have recommended him to family & friends!

Nice person, clean facility, staff not very professional. The person over the pharmacy and records is atrociously bad at the job. Dr Gimness has a wonderful bedside manner but didn't bother to read my history before our appointments so most of our time was spent going over all the history I had already filled out beforehand. Although very nice he was not very helpful helping me deal with RA problems and did absolutely nothing to diagnosis neck, lower back and hip pain.

I was having issues finding a good dr..I found Dr Gimness through my insurance company I have to say he is the best Dr I have found in a long time very thoughful and listens to all your concerns and addresses them with you..

When Dr Gimness moved to Plant City from Winter Haven I sought him out because of the excellent care I had received. I drive from Winter Haven because he is the best doctor I have found for maintaining my health. I trust him completely.
