Dr. Michael Raphael, DO

Dr. Raphael is kind, compassionate, caring and has extremely good bedside manner. He took not only the time to explain the results of my procedure but listened to my concerns as well.

Terrible experience from beginning to end. From scheduling to billing and everything in between. The worst part was the procedure left my son in worse shape than he was prior to having it.

I met Dr. Rafael in the hospital as one of the specialists that visited me. He was extremely helpful and was instrumental in diagnosing my condition. I had an endoscopy by him. Before I was released, I had the diagnosis and all of the helpful information in writing. Plus he confirmed it verbally. Besides his expertise and competency, he is a genuinely nice man and explains things well to someone without a medical background. The staff at the surgical center was friendly, and made the procedure smooth and stress-free.

After leaving messages via phone and patient portal there is no response. They will transfer you to other people that do not answer the phone and do not return calls.

I understand being short staffed due to Covid. However the complete lack of communication followed by complete disrespect is unreal. Called the office number for Novi. Selected #2 for scheduling a EGD and then chose Michael Raphael as the doctor to schedule with. Never have I ever spoke with anyone over the phone. I have left countless messages that I needed to schedule my husband a EGD. Someone finally called my husband and scheduled the EGD or so we thought. Two days prior to testing I again try calling because we were never sent any information on prep or if he needs a driver. So my husband preps by not eating and we head off to what we thought was the testing. However when we arrive to our surprise we are at the Doctors office. And we were in fact not there for the test he was supposed to have. We were then introduced to Maria who “schedules” and refuses to answer the phone only to be told we won’t have this testing done until NOVEMBER! No ma’am, you have wasted enough time.

I have seen. Dr Raphael a couple of times explained everything to me And took the time to make make sure I was happy with my concerns Thank you for your help

Dr Raphael has an excellent bedside manner and is very knowledgeable and all areas of gastroenterology. My experiences with him have been nothing but positive, and he is truly a kind hearted soul.

It is really too bad Dr. Raphael was very awesome the first time I saw him, however his incredibly RUDE office staff truly ruined our future patient/physician relationship. The staff is very unorganized and is unable to demonstrate proper communication between Dr. Raphael and his patients. The staff should learn how to politely speak to people especially when relaying a note that is from a physician. Warren, MI office ordered the incorrect tests at the hospital. His office lied to me saying that my test results were normal when after further questioning they didn't even get the test results. I asked the doctor to call me about this dishonesty and his office manager was rude to me. The doctor finally left me a voice mail while I was at work without even knowing why I was asking for his attention. I tried to contact him twice regarding the dishonesty and never got ahold of him. Terrible!
