Dr. Michael Sagatelian, MD

The West Ashley office was a jumbled mess. The staff was kind but lacked maintaining a professional atmosphere. Dr. Sagatelian has absolutely NO bedside manner. He doesn't seem to care about his patients at all. Not once during my appointment was I comfortable.. I've suffered with this disease for years of my life and I have preferences on how I would like treatment; not once was my expectations or requests acknowledged. He had no concern for the amount of pain I was in during the appointment. I was in tears by the end of it because I just did not know how to proceed. I have NEVER experienced a doctors visit quite like this one. He had no urgency to my symptoms and me seeking further medical assistance.

good Dr but ther billing and the way they do things explaing ahead of time what it will cost you and what you insurance will pay is noexistant. They hide the fact that most healh care plans cover most of a colonoscopy if you are over 50 and it is done outpatient but not at a ambulatory sutgery center like his that he is part owner of.

Wonderful doctor, compasionate, takes all the time to help and listen, very knowlegeble also kind, understanding , compasionate, very capable, an old fashioned style doctor that takes his commitements to patients very seriously. I was married to a excelent doctor, and Dr. Sagatelian is first rate. I am lucky I was his patient.

The first appointment I went to, he rushed through and didn't seem to want to hear what I was actually experiencing. He diagnosed me without running any tests and prescribed medication to me before actually knowing what was wrong. Second apt I took my dad with and all he wanted to do was chat with my dad STILL instead of suggesting tests or anything else to solve the problem. The only thing I liked was the colonoscopy that was conducted by his coworker. I didn't even see Dr the day of procedure

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM! Rushed through my appointment and kept looking at his phone the whole time! When I scheduled it was for one of the other docs that I have heard great things about. But I get there and they tell me I was scheduled with Dr Sagatelian. I was very unhappy but saw him anyway. He did not put me at ease at all. Just wants to give me more meds. I will not be going back to him ever!

I went to him because the other GI docs in town could not help me. He diagnosed my condition right away and am I glad! He is very professional and caring. Great staff. Everyone made me feel comfortable. The colonoscopy was a breeze. I liked him so much I sent my whole family to him.

I do not think he was honest with me. His treatment for Hep C was the worst experience of my life. I have since been cured by another doctor.

Not only is Dr. Sagatalian an extraordinary Doctor but an extraordinary human being. His kindness, patience and concern before, during and after the procedure was excellent. I highly recommend his services.
