Michael smith caused dual nerve damage. Damaging my ilioinguial nerve and lateral cutaneous nerve. I was unable to walk for a month and am now receiving 3-6 nerve blocks just so i can function again. I have not received a call asking how im doing or what may have caused this. Avoid this place at all cost, Michael is lucky i didnt sew him. Lawyers wont do anything until i cant walk again. Over $40,000 in recorded damages from lost wages and doctors visits so far... I was cut down to part time at work thanks to this surgery. If you feel the need to contact me Michael, you know my address, so i await an apology or something saying you know you messed up.

Dr. Smith, his staff, and everyone who he works alongside are top notch in every single way. He has operated on me twice, and on my father once with better than expected results. Very pleased with his care before, during and after all procedures. Quite simply stated, he is the best general surgeon in the St Louis area, in my opinion!

when u talk to him at first he seems knowledgeable but when he gets paid he totally turns into dr.jekyll. This is the absolute truth an he lacks skills in surgery procedures. Beware before u spend time am money.I'm a retired doctor myself so this should be adequate info. for u to take.

Very poor follow up after surgery. Office seems a bit disorganized. Get rid of the fish tank if you cannot keep it clean!!

He did not explain things very well to me. I went in to have my gall bladder removed, which I was not nervous about at all. But I have pancreatitis and EPI (also a pancreas disease), and was having major pain and complications, but he sent me home anyway, where I continued to have complications and ended up going back. His bedside manner is terrible and I will make sure to steer clear of him for my next surgery!
