Dr. Michael Solomon, DO

Solomon was supposed to remove a pterygium from my right eye. The removal is followed placement of a skin graft. The first time, I was on the table ready to be wheeled into the OR when he came in & told me the first hospital didn't order the skin graft so he couldn't proceed. He said he would do it again at another hospital that was a better facility. The 2nd time, I was in the OR, sedated, when he came in & said the 2nd hospital hadn't ordered the skin graft so he couldn't continue. He never took responsibility, never apologized. I will never enter his office again. I immediately contacted another MD.

Dr. Solomon performed my laser eye surgery. He did various test on my eyes and walked me through the options. My consultation and follow up appointments were all included with the surgery. My eyes were healing slower than most other people, but Dr. Solomon advised me on how to take care of my eyes during this process. He even assured me that if my eyes settled and were not 20/20, he would do a touch up with the laser. This turned out to not be needed, but it was so comforting while my eyes were still settling into clear vision. I now have better than 20/20 vision and I couldn’t be happier with my eyes.

Horrible! He recently moved to Uptown Eye Associates where I have been going for over a decade. He is new at Uptown ans was completely unprepared for my visit. I had to remind him twice that I was scheduled for a nerve conductivity test. His reading of the results was a SIGNIFICANT delta from the last +10 years of results. When I questioned the miracle, he told me that the almost doubling of my nerve conductivity was the result of my nerves growing back.... which is not possible. Then despite my clean bill of health, suggested that I should have exams every three months instead of my current 6 month routine.

While knowledgeable and possessing a pleasant "bedside manner," BE WARNED of the ineptitude and very costly experience I had at this office. As a new patient, I sought an annual exam and updated glasses prescription. After 3 visits (and 3 corresponding co-pays), 3 sets of incorrect lenses and a $739 co-insurance payment, I was still unable to see. I visited another clinic, was correctly refracted the first time, and paid another $425 out-of-pocket for new lenses.
