Have had several colonoscopies with Dr S. all good. As I was wheeled into the procedure room last week, Dr S was looking at a screen of colon photos of last patient. A MD friend was looking over his shoulder. "Look at this". "Whoa - Loaded with polyps. Is that dead tissue?" "Yah - look here". Dr. S: "He has no family or friends - what is he going to do?" Dr S was more concerned about the patient than technical issues.

Dr. Stavinoha has been my Gastroenterologist for over 10 years and my mother was his patient for 10 years prior. He is always professional in his work and demeanor and is an excellent physician. He has performed my numerous procedures with care and consideration. He is thorough and respectful in conducting patient appointments and takes time for each patient to address and discuss all concerns; thus, the wait times can sometimes be long. His staff has always been friendly, polite, and helpful. (At times the phone is not answered when the office is supposed to be open; however, there is an option to leave a message.) I highly recommend Dr. Stavinoha.

If my Mom hadn't called to check on her pancreatic biopsy results after 2 weeks, we would still be waiting. Dr. Stavinoha explained Mom's file went down to radiology in error because the radiologist name was listed as requesting her biopsy. Apparently his staff doesn't keep track of tests results they are waiting on to not track down this error on their own. Cancer patients should be informed asap, not left waiting and waiting and waiting.

Excellent experience start to finish. The initial visit was very comfortable and not rushed. The following procedures were scheduled and done very professionally. The entire process was easy.

I have seen Dr. Stavinoha for about 7 years or so, my wife has seen him much longer. He is a great doctor but unfortunately we can no longer recommend him due to his unruly office staff. They are late to open the office phones when he is not in, they are rude to you on the phone and they do not pass messages along to the doctor in a timely manner. It is a shame that the office staff is going to run this doctor's practice into the ground.

I saw Dr. Stavinoah for a 2nd opinion after a diagnosis of a stricture which required surgery. He said everything looked fine and I didn’t need surgery. When I read the lab report, I saw he did a sigmoidoscopy, not a colonoscopy. Later, he admitted he didn’t do a colonoscopy because a “blockage” would make it risky. He also disparaged my first doctor, doubting he had actually done a colonoscopy. Now he ordered a Barium X-ray. On seeing the results, now he admitted I should have the surgery.

Dr. Stavinoha is a wonderful and a very knowledgeable gastro Dr. his bed side manner is great and he spends time asking questions since he really cares. His front desk assistant Krista is superb as well. I will say that Sandra (insurance verifier) on the other hand is extremely rude and she is definitely not professional. If it wasn't for the Dr. being so great and Krista I would have never returned just based on the treatment from the insurance verifier. Krista stepped up and handled everything

The doctor seems fairly knowledgeable. I am giving 2 stars because of the incredibly rude office staff and considering you have to deal with them more than the doctor I will be finding another provider. Tabitha from the office is extremely unprofessional

Dr. Stavinoha is a great doctor. His office is pretty minimal and he's a bit aloof personality-wise, but that might be something that I like about him. No frills, great at answering questions, and he has provided great care for me for years. Easy to get in touch with, and a great experience overall. I highly recommend him to my friends who ask for a great GI.
