Dr. Michael Stechison, MD

On Jan. 9th 2023 I had a cervical laminectomy & fusion...I was very comforted in Dr. Michael Stechison explanation using a model and my MRI's, what my surgery entailed. He also allowed ample time for my /our (my wife's) questions. He has great bedside manners. Very professional and caring. Dr. Michael Stechison, is also a published neurosurgeon, PhD. Dr. Stechison is very sensitive of my request for blood recirculation referred to as (cell salvage) vs blood transfusion due to my biblical view regarding this matter. He and his staff was respectful taking my request in stride. The results of the surgery was excellent, although he cautioned me that ANY major surgery has it's risk. I was no different. This further comforted me knowing that he was fully connected and didn't consider this a usual surgery although he's preformed it many times. I can assure you that he's a very skilled neurosurgeon. I am a senior aged, african-american male, working as a commercial Class A driver and an insurance business owner in the Loganville, Georgia area. I understand Dr. Stechison has performed surgeries on athletes, and other professionals, all walks as it were. Dr. Stechison office staff are also a complement to his practice from his PA-Brent Woolford, Melandie, Christian. . I have to say, I think Dr. Michael Stechison should be on your short list when it comes to all Neuro-connected medical issues. Give his office a call. .

The staff at Dr. Stechison office is very caring. Dr. Stechison and Brett explain everything is detail. I feel very comfortable with the procedures that they have done on me.

Dr Stechison has helped me for years with back pain. He is. A great surgeon but is more concerned about getting the patient the right care bs just operating

Very rude and didn’t listen at all. He was very condescending. Marginalized my pain and how I felt. Can’t imagine he would have acted that way if my husband had been allowed to come in with me or if I was a man. If your a female I would suggest seeing someone else.

Lumbar spinal fusion 7/2019 at Eastside Medical. Excellent friendly office. Good and patient explanations. My outcome is good. The pain is gone, which was debilitating. My back will forever be stiff and movement not quite as free as it once was, but there was no movement at all when the agony and spasms were in control. Would definitely recommend Dr. Stechison and Brett Woodford. Make your own medical decisions, but they shoot straight with you!

I was over the pain I have lived with for over a year. Dr Stechison had done surgery on my husband years earlier and was so sincere in his treatment with excellent results. I made an appointment because other doctors other doctors told me There was no option for relief if the pain I had v Dr Stechison did a thorough exam and testing and told me the options I had. He and his staff were courteous, professional and interested in helping me resolve my pain. I am still in treatment but there are options and an end in sight. I can’t thank him enough.

Went to Eastside Medical Center with a terrible headache and blurred vision. I was blessed that Dr. Stechison was on duty. They discovered a clot between my skull and my brain. They addressed my problem early the next morning. I could be happier the way it turned out.

Dr Stechison is a incredible Neurosurgeon! He took so much time with my case and really explained my options for surgery to me. He also has such an amazing bedside manner, he truly cares about his patients and it really shows. I highly recommend him and Brett His P.A. to anyone that needs a Neurosurgeon. They are the Best!!!

Rude, condescending and would not explain and answer questions. Didn't seem concerned with the pain I was in. I feel like this was a waste of my time and money. Would not recommend!

Dr. Stechison is a brilliant mind and surgeon. He has done spinal surgery on me twice and I highly recommend him. He listens, explores options, and clearly explains what will help you. His post care is caring . Brett, his PA , is part of an outstanding team. Dr. Stechison is totally involved in solving your problem and getting you out of pain considering all options. He loves what he does, treats all patients with respect and kindness, and is excellent in his very difficult field

Dr. Stechinson is very kind and explains things very well. I have been having pain in my hands and arms and paresthesia. I did an MRI with another neurologist and was seeking a more detailed explanation to see if my problems were related to pinched nerves in my spine. He did a very thorough neurological examination and provided me with insight on my condition. Super great doctor I can see that he cares about his patients. If I need a surgery I would trust him with my body.

Dr. Stechison performed over 7 hours of surgery repairing a CSF Leak from the dura along with another doctor about 5 months ago. He was so professional and approachable during the entire 2 months of aftercare. He always answered all my questions and made me feel very much at ease wile facing a serious surgery. I think he is brilliant and very competent, a good listener and communicator. I just loved him!

I really loved Dr. Stechison. He took time to explain my condition and referred me to a neurologist. He is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions thoroghly. Cheryl (the front office receptionist) was beyond helpful!

My husband had c-spine surgery. He is extremely professional yet very personable and he cares a great deal about his patients. Excellent surgeon.

I came with CT scans of my back L4-L5. He did not listen to me about my problem, as if he had made up his mind before he saw me. I am very disappointed. I wanted to know what was causing my problem. I wanted him to compare two CT scans, one before and the after my back fusion. I don't think he even looked at the CT scans of my lumbar region. He said he could not do any thing for me. Did not recommend any thing that could help me. I am disputing the cost of this visit. Please reimburse.

I am extremely satisfied with Dr. Stechison’s patience, knowledge and surgical skills in trigeminal neuralgia (TN) microvascular decompression (MVD) procedure. My MVD surgery went very well. The recovery also went smoothly. Many Many thanks. Dr. Stechison is an excellent neurosurgeon.
