Not good at all. I came with many previous hard copy lab results which he was not interested in reviewing. He did not run labs of his own at either of my 2 appointments with him. He merely put me on Prednisone for few months- with no real plan or reasoning - or not that he shared. He did not do an exam - even during our initial appointment. He pressed on my hand once, my foot once, and had no interest in looking at my nails or toe nails. My husband and I were so disappointed and perplexed. We gave him another chance for a second visit- thinking maybe he was having a crisis day the first time. Second visit was just as disappointing.

He looked at blood work from 2 yrs ago, and only did an x-ray to determine what he thinks I have. He spent very little time with me, and didn't say much. After 3 visits he sent told me that my pcp could take over and monitor me, and that I didn't have to see him again. I got the feeling that he didn't care much and that my "diagnosis" was rushed. Also none of my symptoms fit what he claims I have.

I went to Dr Watterson after moving to TN and needing a new Rheumatologist as I have had a dx of inflammatory arthritis for several years. He was very arrogant and refused to listen to me or my husband regarding my history. He refused to answer us when we asked if he had looked at my records that were sent, he had his mind made up about my diagnosis with just an x ray. He didn't even do any blood work. As a retired nurse this is not how you treat patients, you need to listen to them and look at records and do tests before changing a diagnosis.

Dr. Watterson is very caring and he listens. I had my first appointment with him in March, I've had a lot of blood work done. I have gone through some medication changes to find the ones that work best for me. His staff are very kind and helpful. I highly recommend anyone who needs to see a Rheumatologist to please call his office.

Dr Watterson is now in Lenoir City, TN. Went there today and found him to be personable and informative. Found his diagnosis to be on point and in agreement with the family doctor. No wait, all staff were excellent.

I felt like my visits with him were a waste of time. He made no eye contact, rocked back and forth without speaking for a few minutes, then used his ink pen to tap on the side of the computer screen. He had no advice on changes to my treatment. Only "exam" was asking me to open and close my hands. Bloodwork results are never explained in any way whatsoever. Unlike my other doctors in the Summit group.

I wasn't very impressed with him. He rocked back and forth in his chair and pretended he was thinking, but I generally feel like he had already made his mind up about my diagnosis based off of bloodwork alone. This is my 4th time going to a rheumatalogist. I've not been impressed with any of them, but he's my least favorite. I'd look around for someone else. I liked his nurse, but that's the only thing.

I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. He doesn't take time with you, he doesn't listen to what you tell him, he just decides what he thinks is wrong and that's it. I waited 5 months to get in to see him and then he didn't even do any blood work until I had been going for 4 months, and that was after I asked about it. He won't look you in the eye and he acts as if could care less. Even the first appointment, he took maybe 10-15 minutes with me. After I waited 5 months to get in!!!
