Dr. Michael Wheatley, MD

Dr. Wheatley treated a minor issue, but prescribed a strong antibiotic that caused me a lot of problems. When the problems worsened well past my final dose, I contacted his office and was brushed off and told me to take an over-the-counter supplement. I scheduled an appt at which point he ordered some labs. When the results showed a more serious infection, he simply messaged me that he prescribed another antibiotic for me to pick up and begin. I had to do all of the research on the new infection by Googling it, which scared the heck out of us. I completed the second antibiotic but still had issues and scheduled a third appt. When I confronted him about it, he played it off as a very rare side effect, despite multiple other health professionals I'd seen since telling me it was common with the med he first prescribed. I felt as though I wasn't properly cautioned, there was little to no follow up for the second infection, and I was continuously brushed off when I contacted the office.

Has been my dr. for years and has always listened carefully to my complaints and given me reasonable answers. If I have questions about what he says, or if I don’t hear (I’m old), he will listen and explain. I also like the fact that he doesn’t talk “down” to me and always treats me as an intelligent adult.

He does not remember from appoint to appoint what he has done for you. He over doses your medicine, and does not catch it till months later. Unless you catch it yourself, by having nasty side affects. He shrugs off things that are wrong with you. He tells you that he does not know how you are still working for a years. Only to tell you after you try to get disabled he won't help you with claim? My whole family has been seeing him for years. We are looking for a new doctor.
