Bad language just not nice

With 2 knee replacements scheduled, Michele only focused on the fact that I was taking prescribed pain-killers. Without any history of addiction or misuse, in all of my interactions w/ her, I was treated like a criminal, condescended, judged & disrespected. What's worse is that she never asked me how I was coping w/ recent major life stressors (e.g. death of father, husband's affair, recent move, new disability status, etc.) & when I asked about her unusual scrutiny & suspicion, she told me I was a "hot mess" whom she couldn't trust. As an MD, I can attest that she lacked clinical knowledge most 2nd yr. medical students have - in attempting to explain herself, she incorrectly described thyroid physiology & treatment & also misquoted the DSM in defending an inaccurate diagnosis. Professionalism was a concept also lost on Michele. Instead of exploring my history further, she talked @ length about her children's new "bisexual roommate," ignorantly judging this person in her comments.

She is an excellent doctor, went to her for possible skin cancer issues and she was very thorough....i was impressed! Wish i knew where she is practicing now......can not find her.

Dr. Armstrong is a very unique individual. If you want tip toe and tap dance you don't want this amazing doctor. She is up front and straight forward with her patients. Yet compassionate. She is thorough and will never rush through an appointment, and demands professionalism from her staff. She is no longer employed at SCRMC.
