Saved My Daughter’s Life
The billing department is incompetent but that’s not the doctor’s fault. She saved my daughter’s life when a condition was discovered and saved her again when I needed an emergency c-section. She’s really thorough and always does things on the cautious side. She also does normal gynecologist, so you can go back even after having your baby. She was so amazing that I went back for baby number 2 and she’s been nothing but exceptional. She also remembers the tiniest personal details you tell her, even from years ago.

Not what I expected
I went to Dr. Haughton as a first time mother. I initially was referred to another doctor in her practice who was fully booked. I went with Dr. Haughton, who was the only doctor with availability, because of the reputation of the practice and her generally positive reviews online. I probably visited this doctor upwards of a dozen times during my pregnancy, and I was never able to develop any sort of relationship with her. Her manner is impersonal and rushed. Do not come here if you expect some hand holding as a first time mother. I much preferred the doctor on call who ended up delivering my baby. The final surprise was that Dr. Haughton didn’t even stop by my room in the hospital during rounds when I gave birth to check up on me, even though she was on call while I was recovering. She sent a resident instead. I will say I do believe she went by the book in terms of her medical advice. The office is well organized and the hospital she delivers at is the best in NYC.

Dr. Haughton and the Alex Cohen Labor Center were excellent! I saw her as my ob following an IVF procedure and a hematoma. I was high risk due to my age (42). She was very patient with me and answered all my questions thoroughly. She's an excellent doctor. The Alexandra Cohen Labor Center was also exceptional. All the rooms are singles. I had an emergency c-section and my baby had to be in the nicu for 2 weeks. The nicu could not have been more wonderful. So competent and careful with my baby. The doctors and nurses thoroughly answered all of my questions. I was sleep-deprived, traumatised and emotional and they treated me with compassion. Cons: It is impossible to ask Dr. Haughton a question in between appointments. You can only reach her nursing staff who I did not have as much confidence in. This is a con for the practice, not the doctor herself.

My wife used this practice, and while doctors were fine, their back office is totally incompetent, leading to screwed up insurance claims and tens of thousands of dollars of disputed bills. Avoid all doctors from this office unless you want to spend your kid's first year fighting with them over incorrect bills
