I saw Michelle at my week 36 visit when she was still at Mercy. I explained I was anxious because I had lost my mucus plug yesterday and would like her to check if there’s any changes or just put my mind at ease. Mind you I just had my first baby a year prior at 36 weeks and 6 days; 7 days after losing my mucus plug. I am also a registered nurse and felt that it was worth bringing up to her. She talked to me as if I asked her the most outrageous and stupid thing she’s ever heard. ‘You have mucus, there’s not such thing as a plug’ she explained to me as if I was 4 that it sheds and she would not be checking anything because I wasn’t due for another month. Honestly it was if I had asked her to check my tire pressure on my car. Fun fact: I had my son less than week later- at 36 weeks and 6 days. I obviously never forgot that because it was the worst interaction I’ve ever had with a doctor.

Dr. Straka performed my hysterectomy, before surgery I was very informed about what was going to happen before during and after. She came and talked to me before surgery and after also explaining everything to my husband. The day after surgery her nurse Kara called to check in on me. A few days l called in with a few questions within a few minutes I had an answer and she got me in the same day to check on me. Every time I have called or emailed with any questions Kara would promptly get me an answer. These two work very well together I was surprised to learn Kara was so new. Dr. Straka's nurse in the office is just as caring and educated. I have never been to an office where the staff makes you feel like they have known you for years and generally care about you.

I just had my first visit with Dr Straka and I am so pleased to have found her. She’s very personable and caring and I feel very comfortable with her. Truly a nice person.

Dr Straka has gone above and beyond for my wellness. She has a down to earth and caring approach. Im truly grateful to have her as my doctor.

Dr. Straka is a wonderful Dr. I have been seeing her for many years and never once had a bad experience. She spends as much time with you as you need for your appointment. She always answers my questions and has great bedside manor. She is never in a rush to examine and get to the next patient. I have been having some female issues and she spends extra time with me to discuss and figure out the next steps for me to recover. I would and have recommended her to family and friends!

Very easy to talk to, caring and knowledgeable.

Dr. Straka was not personable. She seemed to be in a hurry. Bedside manner was poor. She did not answer my questions. Very disappointed. The office staff was nice. I would not recommend Dr. Straka and I will be looking for a new practice.
