Dr. Michelle Harvison, MD

My pcp told me to see a gyne for a problem. I waited an hour in the waiting room for dr harvison. During the appointment I told dr Harvison that my pcp reviewed an ultrasound, had me get another ultrasound told me to see a gyne. Unfortunately the 2nd results weren’t ready for my appointment with dr. Harvison. Dr. Harvison dismissed everything I had to say. She did not do an exam. I told her previous tests showed that the problem wasn’t going away. She dismissed my concern. She basically told me that because of my age (63) that I shouldn’t worry about it. She said she would call me after she reviewed the most recent results. Fortunately I found another gyne who listened to me, reviewed tests, did an exam and discussed treatments. It seems dr harvison and advanced women’s care can send texts, emails and bills for the copay but can not call with test results. I will not be back to dr. Harvison or adanced women’s care.

My appointment 10-22-24 with Dr Harvison at Advanced Women’s care of Pittsburgh left me feeling upset and uncomfortable. She started the appointment with focusing on my mental health. She began asking me increasingly more invasive questions about my MH She finally got to saying 'I find the best way to deal with mental health is physical exercise.' I yelled stop and told her I was done with the questioning and to please finish my exam. She replied with 'I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you.' I asked her if she suffered from Depression and Anxiety.She said no. And I told her I was beyond all of the hot takes from people who don't understand. As she is now doing my exam. she proceeds to tell me 'My brother in law is a therapist and he sends me all of the latest research that I study.' I was so very upset and uncomfortable at that point I was in tears. . I feel like she was taking advantage of my vulnerability to 'upsell' me on either her, or her brother in law's MH advice.

Dr. Harvison delivered my son on October 7, 2015. The first time I met her was during labor. She was absolutely wonderful. She was caring, attentive and very well educated. I trusted her completely! After my experience with her and without hesitation, I decided to make her my primary OBGYN so she can deliver my second child. I highly recommend her. She was the perfect doctor to bring my beautiful son, Levi, into this world.
