therapy as usual?
I saw Mike 8 times. I'll admit I am a bit distrusting of therapists, and find most to be very mediocre and unable to help meaningfully. I'm also not an easy person to work with from their perspective. Though I didn't 'complete' treatment with Mike, I didn't sense he could help in any way. He followed his questionnaires very closely, almost robotically. Any topics or my questions not part of his plan were dismissed. Terms I felt he should know and were in his 'expertise' he did not. In fact, I found him to be defensive fairly easily, when from my point of view, my questions were trying to allow me to build trust. As part of his practice's procedure, he'd only call from non ID numbers. Personally, I find this strange, but it is policy. Meetings were 50 minutes via zoom, but more like 45 as he'd call in a few minutes late with a hard cut-off. I found him asking the same questions often as he seemed to forget prior answers. Likely a good guy and therapist, but I never got there w him...
