She was a bully with zero empathy
I met this doctor a couple of times in 2012 and loved her. She sat on a stool directly in front of me with great communication and kindness. She left the area but when I heard she was back I wanted to switch back to her. This was a huge mistake.I waited 6 months as a 'new patient' with a high blood pressure concern. After my first visit I was deeply concerned that she sat behind a computer screen, communicated very little and had none of the previous kind hearted nature.Upon my second visit which took longer than planned to get in due to her availability and my need to change a time, I was scolded for waiting so long. She proceeded to ignore any concerns I had over medications including an allergy I have to lactose in medications. She treated me as non compliant and became a total bully using fear to tell me ALL THE WAYS I WOULD DIE of high blood pressure. I left in tears but not before being fired as a patient. All I wanted was to participate in choosing a medication.

Only went one time but I like her so far!
She was reserved initially upon entering the room but over time she warmed up and really listened. It is hard to get in for follow up appointments but I believe my follow up appointment will be more beneficial 2.5 months later to really see my progress. I’ll have to check back in about my experience after seeing her a bit but hopefully I remain healthy so I don’t have to see her often and wonder about her availability. I did send in a request via the portal and they got back to me next day. No issues there.

New Patient
I am trying to find a PCP closer to my home, so I've made an appointment with Dr. Mcafee. However, she didn't have an opening until February 7. After reading these reviews, I'm having second thoughts. Comments about not being able to see the doctor when sick and having to leave messages requesting an appointment (and not getting return calls) concerns me. I have no doubt that she is capable, as most all reviews compliment her ability and patience. However, the staffing issues give me pause. I will rate her again after my experience. (When reading her reviews, I accidentally hit the stars, and could remove all but one of them! So I gave her 4 stars based on the complimentary comments, which far outweighed the negative.)

McAfee is the most knowledgeable doctor I have ever come across. She is someone who brings research and study to her medical assessments. Her diagnosis are clear and on point. I’m sorry she is no longer in Houston. Dallas, you are lucky to have her.

This is the most unprofessional and disrespectful medical practice I have ever TRIED to contact. The negative reviews are accurate. The front office does not answer the phone or call you back. The front office provides the initial contact with the medical staff. Therefore, it is imperative that the initial experience be a positive one because it is indicative of what will follow (i.e. the quality of medical care).

I was 15 min late to my follow up appt today and was told i could not be seen. I stood in the office waiting to check in for 10 min. They only have 1 receptionist for the 10 doctor office. They do everything by hand and are not yet computerized. I'm sure i will incurr an office visit fee!!! I'd only seen this doctor once. She is good. Im jus dumbfounded!!! I was in the office...( pissed!)

To echo another reviewer, I unfortunately have to switch doctors due to staff and difficulty scheduling appointments. You have to leave a message to schedule an appointment, and they say they will return your call. I tried unsuccessfully to schedule bloodwork for TWO weeks! I ended up finding another doc for that issue, but am currently ill and in need of a PCP. No one there will return my calls. Not sure how anyone actually gets scheduled there anymore.

While Dr, Bennett is experienced, personable and provides excellent care, her staff are so sloppy that I have changed doctors. Prescriptions get called in but the pharmacy doesn't receive them; repeated calls to the office for appointments go unanswered and my messages requesting an appointment do not get returned. The office closes for days with no notice and no indication of closure. I finally gave up when I arrived for an appointment today and was told it was cancelled?
