Dr. Mina Hah, MD

I came here after being left with a sour taste in my mouth, and half of her reviews look like something I would’ve wrote. I can definitely confirm what other people said about her.Dr.Hah diagnosed me after a 50 minute evaluation with a questionnaire I didn’t entirely understand and seemed convinced most experiences I had are because of her diagnosis. She also doesn’t seem to listen entirely and it has led to awkward situations with my other providers. She laughed at comments I made and it felt almost mocking at times. Most concerningly, she seems to think too highly of herself, and she made some of the most arrogant statements I have ever heard. On the medical side, she seemed way too happy to throw prescriptions at me and increase doses. As a result, my med regimen became a mess I’m untangling with my current psychiatrist. Taking care of your mental health is important but I worry for other patients that may be getting set back in their journey. Please go somewhere else!

Based on the care I received I would give zero stars but I cannot. The level of care I received was underwhelming and I would often leave our sessions feeling worse off than had I never gone. Additionally her cultural sensitivity and understanding of POC mental health services was lacking and left me feeling misunderstood. I came expecting to see a doctor who has abetter understanding of my demographic but she did not. As a result of the care I received I decided to not see a psychiatrist again.

This doctor made for a very difficult experience. I was able to find a different psych who was super helpful, but the experience with her (as well as with her office) discouraged me for a while for finding a new practitioner. I am sorry to anyone who has shared this experience and hope that you find someone more professional and thoughtful to work with as well.

I was nervous about seeing a psychiatrist and have trouble trusting people enough to be honest about my mental health disorders. Dr. Hah has impressed me with both her level of knowledge and compassion. She makes sure you are engaged in deciding your treatment. She explains her process and makes sure you are on board. She has helped me learn more about the disorder that I have, including providing a new diagnosis which has made my disorder easier to manage. In addition, her staff are extremely professional and friendly. I strongly recommend her and her team.

I received 7 weeks of Deep Brain Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for recurrent Major Depression. Today, I feel better than I have in years. Such a simple sentence, but with so much meaning for me. Deep brain TMS has given me the proverbial new lease on life! I am so grateful to Dr. Hah for making this method available to the public.

Based on what she said it seemed like basically anything I was thinking or feeling was a symptom of what she thought I had. I never experienced any improvement in the one area I came to her for to begin with, which she said was because the illness I had changes over time. If that's the case I don't think it's worth going to the inconvenience of constantly changing medications and having to get blood tests, as I never felt anything like what the most extreme symptoms of what she thought I had were supposed to be. I'm not sure the diagnosis was correct; I'm not an expert, but I wasn't asked any open-ended questions about how I felt at the first appointment, and some of the medications she prescribed me made just gave me physical discomfort or anxiety.

After suffering with acute depression which was medication resistant my whole life, I was referred to Dr. Hah for TMS treatment. It changed my life. My mild depression is controlled by minimum medication now and I feel like a new person. Dr.Hah and her staff explained all details, were always upbeat and knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire treatment.

Dr. Hah is an excellent psychiatrist! I’ve known her for almost 10 years (since 2012) years! Dr. Hah is one of the leading passionate and dedicated doctors in the Davis/Sacramento area. She’s able to provide ethical and high quality care for her clients, mentorship, and leadership to her colleagues and peers. I recommend her to all of my friends and family who seek psychiatric medical care.

Dr Hah is dimissive, does not listen. Very bad experience.
