Dr. Minnie Enriquez, MD

I am writing on behalf of my 83 year old Mother who called me in tears after a horrible appt with Dr. Enriquez. I'm enraged at how belittling she and other Dr's are with geriatric patients. My Mom was talked to like a child, ordered to not visit her again without take her HBP meds beforehand, and did not assist her onto the examination table. This is outrageous and Drs who can't be patient or Dr. the elderly with compassion and care should exit the medical community. I have Medical POA now for my mother and will be reporting her.

The business and disease model seem to be practiced here, not the healthcare model - finding disease everywhere, routinely ordering tons of tests, many unnecessary. Before coming to the Elkhart Clinic, I didn’t have any diagnoses. Dr. Minnie Enriquez wasted no time in piling up diagnoses on me and ordering tons of tests. Out of 4 serious diagnoses, 3 were not supported by the lab results. But she noted that I refused treatment! I saw the pile of diagnoses in my summary visit I accessed through their portal. The dr. didn’t discuss these with me, never an explanation, or discussion of research in the area, or alternative treatments to the ones that are 30 or 40 years old – all this would take time, and she needs to be out in 3 min. I saw Dr Enriquez for a couple of months and every time she spent less than 5 minutes in the office, always writing on the computer. Dr. Enriquez is interested in my health and me as a person. She listens to me and provides options for treatment if needed. She responds in a timely manner to messages from me to her on the Portal.

I am not happy, my last appointment was a long wait, a patient was 30 minutes late and she was called in ahead of me. My appointment was at 11:15 hers was 11 and she arrived at 11:25. I waited till 12:15 and asked to have Dr Enriquez to call me. Three days later I received a letter rescheduling my appointment an November 17, a month later. I received a phone call on November 12 telling me Dr Enriquez will be out of the office and my appointment is now December 3rd. Not very happy.

I was the 1st patient to be seen, so no waiting. Dr. E was aware of my recent ablation at EGH on 4-14-20. We reviewed my labs. I really like her bedside manner.
