Abandons Patient & Refuses to Release Records

1 star is being very generous. This woman has lost it. She was my Dr for 5 years and after Covid, she slowly got worse and worse to the point of me having to wait weeks, then months for medication refills. She would spend our entire appointments talking about her other patients and telling me the same stories over and over. My family begged me to find someone different, but I actually felt sorry for her because she always had 3 page excuses for never calling in medications or forgetting appointments. After my last appointment 6 months ago, she has never responded to medication refills, never responded to me and now will not turn over any of my records. My insurance company has asked for months for my records and she just will not respond. I don't know what else to do. They said they've never had a Dr just not respond and refuse to turn over records.

Dr. Schroeder is such a great person and psychiatrist. She is excellent at what she does and is very kind and knowledgeable. Her assistant Alex doesn’t always know what to say but he tries to help as well. LOL.

Dr. Schroeder is a kind person, but I had a very frustrating experience with her as a new patient. She adjusted my medication after our first appointment together, and I started to feel down. I called her about it and did not hear back from her for a full week, and then only after calling her a second time. When I tried to track her down again, it again took several days, and finally her assistant Alex called me back and said she had been on "vacation" and was a bit behind in returning her calls. My psychiatrists in the past always let their patients know when they would be away and left another number to call in their stead. Dr. Schroeder's assistant, Alex, is also kind but I did not feel comfortable telling him about my moods or using him as an intermediary, since he is not a qualified health professional and I had never met him. I also suspect that Alex is Dr. Schroeder's husband, and I felt uncomfortable with the lack of transparency and confidentiality there.

Dr. Schroeder has helped me in more ways than I can possibly describe. I live in Springfield, MO and make the three hour trip every other month. It is worth the drive and the time. When I met her I felt like I was dying. I'd been misdiagnosed for 32 years. She diagnosed me properly and started me on a treatment plan that has stabilized me. She takes the time with me. She's not a part of the machine; she is one of the good ones. I thank God for Dr. Schroeder.

Best psychiatrist I’ve had in 15 years. Meds all balanced and feeling great. Easy to talk and open too and she listens and remembers past conversations without riling through her notes.

If you expect a doctor to tell you “I’m sorry, I’ve had a bad week and scurry past you, the patient, and escape you by running down the exit stairs then yes, she’s for you! Most unprofessional, poor doctor I’ve ever known. Shameful! I am speaking in regards to my loved one that looked to her for help!

Dr. Schroeder's office is located in the city of St. Louis. I found her online and was drawn to her website, which promotes her holistic and individualized treatment approach. She spends 90 minutes with patients at their initial visit, which makes you feel heard. Dr. Schroeder takes in your experiences/opinions as she explains why a certain approach may work better for YOU over alternatives.
