While the 15-20 minutes of time you spend with Dr. Rubin is pleasant (she listens, is sympathetic, answers questions), but just about everything else having to deal with this office has been the most frustrating and aggravating experience. From making appointments (requiring 4-6 months lead time even as an existing patient), to getting medications (refills ordered, prior authorizations requested), to getting the required lab and X-ray orders is shocking how unprofessional the process is. I too had an appointment canceled by Dr. Rubin, which I had scheduled about 5 months in advance. Even though I was given a new appointment within 3-4 weeks, it was never honored, as the receptionist had not registered it. That began the most painful process that took an additional 7-9 months before I could actually see Dr. Rubin., not to mention trying to get the correct tests written up (needed prior to the visit). Dealing with the office staff is by far the most aggravating of all, especially the supervising assistant. There is no follow up or follow through with getting medication refill and authorization, requiring days/weeks with countless calls and hours just to get medication, even when in desperate need of medication.

I chose Columbia Presbyterian, endocrinology for my bone condition as it is supposed to be a high-ranking facility for patient care. However, my experience has been most disappointing and frustrating.

Fantastic experience
It’s really rare to come across a doctor that actually cares to listen. And not only listen but take the time to put the dots together. Dr. Rubin is very kind and demystified a huge problem in my life.
