Doctor is great
I had a great experience with the MD. He know exactly what to look for when i was having my issues and ran additional tests to rule out some potential scary diagnosis. Would go back to him specifically.

Friendly and Knowledgable Doctor
Dr. Ismail was very nice and friendly. He made the visit very comfortable as it was my first time there. He was communicative and clear with everything he was doing. After completing the check-up, he was able to clearly define my condition and provide me with certain medications that could make my situation better. The staff was also very friendly!

Great physician and physician’s assistant
I am seen primarily by his PA, who is very good, listens, and is very smart. I’ve had interactions with Dr. Ismail, and he also strikes me as being an intelligent, thoughtful physician. I find the office staff to be efficient, and more pleasant on the phone than in-person. I tend to find them needlessly brusque in person— it doesn’t take extra time to be pleasant, and I’ve never seen a smile directed at me there until the nurse gets me for vitals, and sometimes not even then. They are good practitioners, and I do appreciate that they listen and don’t make you feel rushed, but I also wish they’d space their appointments more realistically—my last appointment started 40 minutes late, and that’s pretty normal for the practice. They really are good though, just plan to be there a while. I HATE the office— both the building— not great if you have mobility issues— and the actual office, which is ugly like a DMV office, with super-uncomfortable chairs— again, the care is worth it.

I have been seeing Dr. Ismail for some 8 years now for fibro, chronic migraines, and neuropathy etc. I find he is an awsome Doctor. He has always been very patient with me & my family members (including my service dog!) His staff has always treated me with respect and kindness. If I have to call in for something, they always jump right on things. I WOULD TRUST NO OTHER NEUROLOGIST WITH MY HEALTH CONCERNS. I love this office & will always TRUST DR. ISMAIL WITH MY LIFE!!!

One particular poster in his waiting room should have been a red flag. A picture of a baby with (and I’m paraphrasing) “Attorneys see all patients the same” and “POTENTIAL LAWSUIT” superimposed over the picture. When giving me a spinal tap, he waited approx. 10 seconds between administering local anesthetic and inserting the needle, evidently not enough time for it to take effect as I could feel the needle the entire time and it was EXCRUCIATING. His bedside manner both during and after were absolutely horrendous, he seemed to have no sympathy for me, curled up and crying. The next appointment (to go over the results) he simply said nothing showed up and that my symptoms “must not be neurological” and he told me I was “not to come back.” My only assumption is that he assumed I was going to sue, and thus dumped me on the side of the road to be someone else’s problem. I have never in my life had a doctor tell me to never come see them again.

I have chronic Headaches and getting treatment from him for 5+ plus years, I am also surprised about his low rating. I think is he is a great physician and a hardworking physician in solo practice. It is a bit tough for him to do timekeeping but otherwise, he is one of the best neurologists you will find.
