Not a Doctor for the right reasons

Dr Taher has been my primary physician for the last eight years, since soon after I moved to the area. He has always been an excellent physician. He greets me in a friendly and professional manner and is fully aware of my medical history. He listens carefully and explains well.

I was there for an annual physical examination. Dr. Taher has a calm, reassuring demeanor. He is open to the patient's point of view, even if his knowledge contradicts them. He's not a one-size-fits-all kind of doctor. He advises rather than dictates care.

I started seeing Dr. Taher a little less than 2 years ago, and since then never felt to change primary care doctor. Compared to my previous PCPs, he spends lot more time with patients and listens more carefully about the problems. He does not ask to make a separate appointment if I want to discuss more than one issues. Highly professional demeanor, but also pretty friendly and easy to talk to. Very prompt is responding to any medical question over phone or email. I highly recommend him.

After my last visit, and I will not return, I would describe this man in one word, 'arrogant'. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I'm not sure he has any idea he's doing it. I've worked hard all my life and have hit hard times. Life is too short to be treated less than, especially at my age.

I felt, and I may be wrong, that the doctor and the office overcharges for the services rendered. Also, try getting an appointment, when you need one, is quite tough.
