one of the worse doctor experiences i’ve had
i’ve meet with this dermatologist twice once in 2021 once very recently. both times i’ve met with her i have left the appointment crying. first time i remember crying feeling very talked down to like i was stupid and incompetent. second time i went she didn’t do anything to help me. she suggest only one treatment for me and told me without that one treatment (im extremely against that one it’s genuinely the only thing i won’t take) she said she doesn’t see my condition getting better. didn’t feel like she heard me out at all and she didn’t try coming up with other solutions. i rarely rarely cry especially from doctors appointments but both times ive started crying the moment i walked out of the door. she had horrible bedside manner, a huge ego that’s extremly apparent, lack of care and consideration for her patients, as well as a personality that screams my way or the high way. i also 100000% agree with the comment i saw on here about her medical gaslighting and that’s 100% accurate.

The Exact Definition of Medical Gaslighting
Telehealth
I had never heard the term medical gaslighting prior to my experience with Dr. Malakouti, but she literally met every bullet point when I came across the term after our 2nd appointment. Here’s a better explanation if you’re unfamiliar with what it it, & I honestly hope that you are, because it’s a truly awful thing to experience, especially when it’s coming from someone you’ve turned to for help. Common examples of medical gaslighting include:• Downplaying or dismissing your symptoms• Not engaging or listening to the conversation• Not asking you follow-up questions about your medical concerns• Refusing to discuss your symptoms with you• Trying to convince you it’s all in your head/psychosomatic • Blaming your symptoms on obesity, menstrual cycle, or stress• Pushing past your concerns & insisting you have no other treatment options besides the one they are suggesting or doing nothing at allShe then proceeded to document false information in my medical file. Awful experience.

I don't understand the previous reviews. I found dr. Malakouti to be very good from A to Z. Friendly, knowledgeable, on time. She put in a lot of effort to find the best treatment for me. I just loved her.

No consideration for her patients
My appointment was at 7:30am in Woodland Hills. Right away a nice lady came to let me know the doc was half an hour late. I was coming from far so I figured I can wait 25 min. At 8:07 she was still not there and after the office called her (she did not have the decency to call, who cares about a waiting patient who also has to go to work), she said she will be in at 8:15 which was a COMPLETE LIE since at 8:20 she apparently was passing by Encino.Emergencies or whatever can always come up but this was 100 percent disregard for your patient!! Absolutely no update, the nice ladies in the office told me she did not tell them what's up. What's interesting, I saw her for the first time maybe a year or more ago and she did pretty much the exact same thing, she made me wait an hour that time too for a bad migraine.Lucky her, not everybody could keep a job that way.

This was the most condescending physician I have ever experienced. She believes she is the most knowledgeable provider and said to me “me being a dermatologist I do not care what other providers have diagnosed your skin condition as because they don’t know, it’s not their specialty” as if other providers cannot diagnose simple skin conditions when they see it. Her entire demeanor is extremely rude and stuck up. If you prefer a physician who genuinely cares to understand what’s going on, looks at your medical history relating to your visit and treats you with even the slightest bit of respect I would not recommend her. She is absolutely terrible at just being a decent human being. To some it up I left with the same knowledge I came with and being told “if you’re expecting me to give you something to make this go away overnight you’re wrong.” One positive I will say is she did not rush my appointment but with her attitude is it really a positive?

Very knowledgeable and straightforward. After 15 years of searching for answers to my condition I felt that my condition could be minimized based upon Dr. Malakouti's medical suggestions. So far, Dr.M's suggestions have come to fruition

She’s a younger, know-it-all type of doctor. Her bedside manners are lacking and she doesn’t communicate well when it comes to discussing treatments and prescriptions. She becomes defensive if you question anything she prescribes. All in all, she has a lot to learn and needs her ego to be knocked down a few pegs.

I have recommended Dr. Malakouti and will continue to express my confidence and fortune after having her treat multiple skin conditions that were not helped in 20 years of suffering. Dr. M. is extremely intelligent, caring and is exceptional in diagnosing and creating a plan that has helped me feel and look better. I felt depressed and hopeless until I was transferred to Dr. Malakouti. With her treatment plans, I am doing better then I have in many years. I have total trust and confidence in her ability to help me and will continue to refer her to anyone that needs Dermological treatment. I feel so grateful to her for the help and empathy she has given me. The visits to her office have continued to be positive and thorough.

She doesn’t care about the patients. I have a medicare and the solution she gave it to me is $250/bottles *3 bottles. It was a phone appointment, she was 40 minutes late. she hung up in 50 seconds and the expensive mix she gave it to me ingredients are PURIFIED WATER, 40% ALCOHOL and a few cheap easy to find stuff. ‘These are happening in Corona Pandemic, hung up the phone in 50 seconds and ignored my email’ I don’t recommend this doctor to anyone! My problem area got worst, obviously i needed more than some alcohol and purified water at the first place.
