My PAH nightmares came true
I have a very serious medical condition called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, a universally fatal condition. It is in the later stages and my daily treatment regimen is critical to my continued survival and quality of life. When I moved to VA, I made sure I was covered in the event I had problems.The problems started on the first visit. My medications requires a PA due to cost, and Dr. Chakurkar was reluctant to fill it out until I informed her that I already had one in place. Keep in mind, that this PA has never been rejected, and there was no reason for her not to try it.Now, as I move to a new insurance, I have a brief period where she is still my pulmonary doc. As the new insurance required a new PA form, one was sent her way. She immediately refused to fill it out for reasons that I haven't gotten a good answer for. She is allowed to fill out a non Kaiser one, as evidenced by the Kaiser doc who eventually filled it out. If you ever depend on a mediation, don't see Chakurkar.
