First, our visit was for 9:45 and did not get out until 1:00. This visit was for our 6 yo grandson whom we shield from his past history. When the nurse asked such a question we told her there were certain topic we did not discuss such things in front of him. But she persisted on asking the same line of questions. When she stepped out of the room I followed and told her not to ask questions like that. Her reply was 'I am closing the door now'. Our grandson was there for a fundoscopic (retina) exam and we told her that. The first statement Dr Tarakji made was 'I see he is having visual problems'. Later in the visit Dr. Tarakji said thing that we were shielding form our grandson We call our grandson by his middle name and told them at the outset. From there on out we had to correct everyone he came in contact with. That shows me either don't care or don't pay attention. Furthermore not of the office staff were friendly. I would actually give this office a 0 star rating.

The first time I took my son I waited almost two hours and had to leave to make it to another appointment. The second time I waited 30 minutes for drops for dilation, then another 45 minutes to see the doctor. He was really fast, and explained everything so quickly that I left feeling confused and frustrated. If he weren't the only pediatric ophthalmologist in the area, I would switch to someone else in a heartbeat.

I love Dr. Tarakji. I have seen him for over 35 years; beginning as a child patient. In the past few years his office staff has went down the tubes. Most of the office staff is not friendly. The optical personnel is nice and helpful but the rest of the staff is less than desired.

Dr. Tarakji is the only eye doctor I would ever take my children to see. He diagnosed and corrected my daughter's problem immediately (when many others misdiagnosed it). Yes, you may have a long wait to see him but he is certainly worth it.

My experience with Dr. Tarakji was absolutely miserable. I waited over 4 hours to be seen, which is ridiculous. I was about ten minutes away from walking out of the appointment before I was finally called. I would recommend looking into other ophthalmologists before Dr. Tarakji unless you take pleasure in asinine waiting times.

I highly recommend Dr. Tarakji! He is very knowledgeable and considerate, and his staff is very friendly and helpful. The waiting room has an adjacent play area for kids, and the kids all seem to enjoy it a lot. Previously I went to an optometrist who seemed more interested in selling me expensive products, but Dr. Tarakji seems focused on providing excellent care and service.

Be prepared to wait 1.5 hours in his waiting room. It is clear he stacks his schedule to the inconvenience of his patients, many with small children. There is a sign that states if your name is not called in 15 minutes to please return to the front desk, I think it must be there to prank the cantankerous receptionist.
