Dr. Murray Engel, MD

Did he retire yet??!!? What a horrible person. Abusing the trust of his patients by ordering unnecessary procedures, trying to refer to colleagues for unnecessary surgery. Taking advantage of his patients healthcare that covers MRIs to keep ordering them to collect valuable data to funnel to Cornell. Talked down to me and hardly ever interacted with my child except to measure his head. I waited forever to get appts. We would wait in the waiting room and then we would would sit in the room with him for 10 minutes while he caught up on the history. Wasted time worrying and putting my baby through anesthesia to get the MRIs that probably did more harm than the condition Engel told me my kid had (that two other doctors I later visited disagreed with). Just...Horrible person. For him, his “experience” was how to monetize on people’s trust and concern for their children.

Avoid Dr. Engel at all costs. My daughter went to him for a severe illness that resulted in paralysis of her bladder and bowel. He ordered 3 MRIs of her spine and one of her brain. The MRIs came back normal so Dr. Engel said he was sorry he had no idea what was wrong with her and if "something came to mind, he would give us a call." Then he hung up. He had no ideas, didn't suggest another type of doctor to try, didn't discuss her case, nothing. It's time for him to retire.

He does not respond to phone calls or emails, Very difficult to get an appointment - takes months, even for existing patients who are trying to schedule a follow-up appointment for test results.

Horrible horrible doctor.

The wait to see the dr is never less than 45min after he scheduled appointment. You spend most of the time with the PA. I would prefer more time with the dr.
