Great OB!
Positive experience so far! I don't typically require a lot of care or hand holding so for me it's the perfect of balance of a caring and efficient physician. She puts in referral promptly, answers emails in a few days which I think is an acceptable delay for non-urgent matters.

Incredible Doctor
I've been seeing Dr Zapata for a few years. She is so kind, so thorough, really cares and listens to you. She has the bedside manner of an angel and I will never forget her holding my hand while I got my epidural for my c-section. I had uterine complications before I had my son and I was in such good hands with her for my delivery and all post care.

Best OBGYN I've ever had!
Dr. Zapata is so knowledgeable and kind. She's my OBGYN and did an incredible job doing laparoscopic surgery on me as well. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doctor. She has a great sense of humor as well. 10/10!!

Minimum doesn't cut it
Do I think Dr. Zapata can adequately and safely delivery baby? Yes. I think we need to hold Dr.'s to a higher standard than competence. I don't feel like a person when I visit with Dr. Zapata. She talks over me when I'm asking questions and shows very little empathy when I feel concerned. She is not the warm physician I was hoping to have during my pregnancy journey. Handing over your medical care and the well being your future child is scary. It takes very little time or effort to humanize the experience to make your patients feel at ease. She comes off curt, cold, and too busy to be bothered. I had the same experience as another reviewer in that she takes a long time to respond to messages and responds in the same short and absent way she does in person. The wait times for her appointments are horrendous. I constantly got phone calls from her desk requesting to reschedule appointments. Being in her care feels like being a number and not a person.

Provider timely responses to MyChart messages (or even VM left) is not timely and responses are incomplete. It takes days to respond to messages and when she does, her she does not answer all the questions asked. The inquiry may not be 911 urgent, but, in today's day and age, and with competitors who are prompt, there simply is no excuse.

My first encounter with Dr. Zapata was to confirm a positive pregnancy test and she had to give me the very difficult news that there was no heartbeat. She gave that news with such empathy and care, talked through all of my options patiently and gave my husband and I the time we needed to take that all in. Dr. Zapata was then with us through my next thankfully successful pregnancy, which happened to coincide with alot of very painful personal moments--a friend losing a child to SIDS, another friend in a coma due to complications from childbirth, my husband's cancer scare--and she was honestly my lifeline throughout that difficult time. She gave me such excellent care, always made herself available to talk through my fears and made sure to gently watch out for the postpartum depression that can result when pregnancy coincides with the kind of life stuff we had been through. I am so so very thankful for the care that I received from her and the entire staff.
