Great Doctor!
I highly recommend Dr. Hussain, he is a very caring and compassionate Doctor! I was suffering from major depression and was losing hope since nothing was helping. After my first consultation with him, I felt confident he would help me, and he did! I can tell he truly wants to help people, and he takes great satisfaction in doing so! He also is extremely patient, and he does not rush you. He takes the time you need to answer any questions you might have. In summary, he is one of the best Doctors I have ever had!

Not a good fit
He didn't really seem to understand my problems or offer anything helpful that wasn't part of his usual treatments. I personally felt like he was a bit dismissive of me.

Doesn't return a call when you NEED one!
Thought he had a good bedside manner. Consultation went well. When ECT was going as planned, things seemed ok. As soon as I had a bad experience, I couldn't get a return call or any comfort. Total personality change. I really felt abandoned and I abandoned him and ECT and will never return if people like this have my brain in their hands.

Great provider, very caring and compassionate. Calm voice and demeanor making appointments that much less stressful. Explains all pertinent information well such as medications, plan of care, and diagnoses. Listens to concerns and let’s the patient choose how they would like to proceed after explaining his recommendations.

I don’t understand all these negative reviews. I have had struggles for close to 30 years, and felt he was very thorough, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I highly recommend!

By far, the most inconsistent MD I've come across. He pays little attention to detail, and has you re-explain everything every time you see him. Not to mention the office is extremely disorganized, and could take weeks to prescribe medication to your local pharmacy. I would not recommend this MD to my worst enemy.

I called to make an appointment as a new patient, and they said they were accepting new patients. I was told that there was not an appointment available until December, which I said was fine. I have excellent insurance. They said they would call me back. APPARENTLY I didn't make some sort of "cut" because someone (who obviously didn't want to answer any of my questions) left me a voicemail at 7:45 AM this morning that they would not accept me as a patient. No explanation given. Nice.

I naturally have a highly skeptical disposition. I have been to several Psychs over the years (>20) and none as astute as Dr. Hussain. He is cautious, caring, engaging and has excellent interpersonal skills. He really cares about his patients. I would describe his drug prescription methodology as start low and go slow. He does not over-prescribe, which I like. I highly recommend him. I wish there were more like him. The only real issue is getting appointments, his office is under staffed.

I love Dr. Hussain. He is very understanding and welcoming. I moved to Chicago and tried to find another psychiatrist but none could compare. All other doctors lack sensitivity and press questions, unlike Dr. Hussian who explains why you would feel that way and how to prevent it. He is usually backed up for months but worth the wait!
